I am going to ATX this weekend for one of my best friends bachelor party. there will be about 10-14 guys on a party bus for part of the night. I was told to make a good play list on my ipod for bus trip around town! I need help with cool bachelor party song! All guys will be in the 29-32 y/o range. I'm not huge into indie rock, but is it just me, or do most of these bands seem to come from Canada? Or at least an out-of-proportion percentage.
The Canadian indie rock scene has been huge these past few years. Especially starting with bands like Arcade Fire, Wolf Parade, Caribou, Born Ruffians, Broken Social Scene, Junior Boys and the likes. Most of these bands listed here have released an album in 2010 and some of them are the best releases of the year as well. Canada does have an disproportionately high number of excellent indie rock making it through the pipeline. Most of it is centered around Montreal and Toronto USA has more bands, but Canada has better quality I feel personally. Especially in regards to the true jangly sounds of the indie genre.
