I, like Isabel, don't have fear. A life of debate and teaching will do that, I guess. Sometimes I get anxious right before because I just want to get out and do it, but that is different. Mostly, you just have to do it. The more you do, the less you fear. Also, remember that most everyone else in the class has either the same fear or some other kind of weakness that will inhibit them. So, it is not as if they will be any better. Further, people generally forget about 80% of what they hear in an oral, paper-presenting presentation so it is not as if what you say matters. You definitely should not be allowed out of it. This is life, you will have to do it again at some point. Take your lumps, improve, and then appreciate the skills you are picking up.
Rivaldo, You should read this book by Jay Mohr. He suffers from the same thing. He started taking medication that changed his life: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...002-8064533-8982452?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 Good luck.
Cool man, glad that you got over it. How long did it take to work? Were there any side effects? and did you have to continue to take the medication? Thanks again for all the replies, I really appreciate the support. Peace.
You don't need Xanax, valium or paxil. What you have is an extremely mild type of social anxiety disorder, which is a type of social phobia that is very common. If I were you I would go to my family doc and request propanolol 15mg. Take it about 30 min-1 hour before you go on stage and you will be fine.
Dont take drugs, just work through it, Or else you will rely on drugs to get you thru any other big presentation.
He clearly even said that he needs to fear god more, thats why he doesnt pray, so hes not perfect, yet hes trying to defend his religion. Now dont tell me that he doesnt have the right to defend his religion unless he himself follows thru with it 100%...
