The way Woody Paige speaks reminds me of Malcolm's best friend in the wheelchair in "Malcolm in the Middle." I get so damn frustrated waiting for Paige's long winded answers to come to a close. The only opinions I respect on that show are of Ryan and Jackie M. (Sometimes Cowlishaw). Marriotti, Simers, Adande, and Paige are a bunch of jokes.

Has this already been explained, or is it just that, like I often do, you have concluded that we are all just talking to ourselves; that no one is going to convince anyone else, and we are either preaching to the converted, or hitting our heads against the wall? I hope you don't ultimately give up on the value of political discussion, though...That's the beginning of the funeral march of what democracy we have left. I often disagree with you politically, but I would rather have sincere opposition than support by default. T_J...I asssumed you had to be joking....was I wrong? I certainly hope so...

Welcome back Max, I like even the posts of yours that I disagree with--you add a lot of sincere discourse to the board. Unfortunately there is a lot of insincere discourse that just ends up polarizing people (especially in war time) insteed of fosting a deeper understanding of issues and reasons why people support them.

Max, It is good to see you back. I asked Jeff specifically about you this past weekend and he told me that you had gotten sick of things. He had nothing but praise for you, and after meeting him and his wife, that is something to be very proud of.
Didn't he just say he wants to avoid all the politcs and what not. Also, most liberals hre really like and get along with Madmax.
Yeah...that's about right...you guys know my position on most things, anyway, without me telling you..or arguing with you again. We've recycled our arguments over and over again. Oddly enough, the guys I'm closest to here are ones whose views are typically opposite mine politically. MacBeth -- democracy will survive my absence in political threads on this bulletin board. i promise i'll still vote! Band Geek - I don't have the answer to your question..I don't think you can disturb the peace, but that's kind of a sliding scale. Free speech isn't completely unlimited. I think it probably depends on the circumstances, but I don't practice any criminal or constitutional/civil rights law really. Thank you all for your kind words...
Max and I disagree on just about everything political and have rubbed each other wrong on a few occasions, but I like him plenty. Same goes for Refman. They're like conservative Jeffs -- fairly moderate, almost always diplomatic, fair and friendly and recent no-shows in the political threads.
