Spears Checks Out Of Rehab...Again Ooops...she did it again. Celebrity newsmagazine "Entertainment Tonight" reported that singer Britney Spears checked out of Promises residential treatment center in Malibu, Calif. early Wednesday morning. That is less than 24 hours after she checked into the facility. After it was reported that she was in rehab, a spokesperson for Spears released a statement Tuesday evening, saying, "Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into an undisclosed rehab facility today. We ask that the media respect her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time." Promises is the second treatment center Spears has reportedly checked in and out of in recent days. Last week, Spears checked into a rehab facility in Antigua, but left after one day. The prominent rumor is that K-Fed threatened to get a court-ordered (hair) drug test for the custody hearings, so she shaved it off. I remember seeing an ABC (?) concert/behind the scenes special back when she had her first or second album out (she was still a minor, IIRC) and remember a scene that featured her with her trainer in her hotel rumor describing her typical day. Unbelievably regimented exercise and diet; you'd think she was an Olympian a month away from the games. The moment she became 18, moved out on her own, and went KFC/red bull/cheetos-happy, I thought back to that scene. She was denied everything forever and was disparate to enjoy all these things she never got to have. Just like a typical college freshmen going insane for a couple of years before finding a happy medium, only on a level to herself. Between that and the Timberlake-inspired psycho-aftermath (going the smoking slut route and then into the I'll marry someone and have kids to show him up route), it's pretty easy to see how things ended up here. Apparently her walking in on/hearing about K-Fed and Timberlake having a bash session about her at the Grammys was the equivalent of an emotional H-bomb for her. The emergency custody hearing that Kevin Federline wanted has been cancelled because of the new development. There will be no custody hearing today. Sources tell TMZ Federline is concerned for Spears' welfare and wants her to get the help she is now seeking. We're also told this will be Spears' last chance -- if she leaves rehab before getting full treatment, Federline will immediately go to court seeking orders allowing him unquestioned full custody of the children. We're told Spears showed up at Federline's house to see the children last night and he wouldn't let her in. Sources say the kids are now in the custody of Federline, and have been since last week. TMZ has just confirmed Spears' inpatient rehab program is supposed to last between 30 and 45 days.
EXACTLY! The kids will be raised by a team of nannies and other help. Whether Brit's in rehab, out with Paris or on a stage somewhere dancing away she was never going to be the sole parent here. It sounds worse than it is, but probably not that uncommon for show biz families (or even non-show biz families where both parents are super driven career-wise). Kev wasn't too interested in being full time daddy to his other kids. But these two come with cool annuities. And that makes them special in his heart.
Better than any photo shop. I'm not usually one to follow this kind of stuff but this is pretty funny/sad. KFed wouldn't let her in to see the kids supposedly because she is wasted or unstable or whatever. Then after that she beats on a papparazi's car with an umbrella. Also hits a reporter with the umbrella. weeee.
