I would have given it to Crabtree but obviously thats not an option... So I would give it to Bradford he's the 2nd best player in the country.
FWIW, Bradford won the Davy O'Brien award as the top QB. McCoy won the Walter Camp award as the 2008 Player of the Year. Tim Tebow won the Maxwell Award, also for best player. Graham Harrell won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
Well-deserved. Bradford is the real deal, and I like his NFL prospects. More incentive for Colt to stay and have an unreal senior season!
Yep! Bradford will lose to both of the other finalist. Bradford won it because of Stoops running up the score and keeping him in games even when they are blowouts.
Ugh. The national title game and now the Heisman? I think I'm going to be sick. If Gideon doesn't have that brain fart against TTU, McCoy would've been the easy winner tonight.
The vote among the 3 was much tighter than I expected. I also think Mike Leach looks stupid now. No wonder the Heisman people didn't invite Harrell.
Leach is upset regardless of the vote disparity because the exposure of Harrell if he did get invited would be good for Tech recruiting. I feel like I'm getting kicked in the balls over and over again this season. In a year where we beat Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas A&M all in the same season and only lose 1 game in the last second in the last game of a ridiculously tough 4 game stretch, I never thought I would be tortured repeatedly. Lose the Big 12 South tie breaker, national championship bid, and lose the Heisman. It feels terrible now, but Florida destroying OU would be justice. Texas will be preseason #1 next year, and Colt will win the Heisman. Then it's Garrett Gilbert for at least 3 more years after that. In the bigger perspective of things, I can't complain about bleeding the great Burnt Orange.
The heisman is officially as much of a joke as the national title game is now... sad. If anyone doubts that, just take any of the finalists this year and put them on a team that isn't on the consistent 10 team marry-go-round of national title lottery participants .. and poof.. they wouldn't even be considered... even with the same numbers. The heisman isn't about the best player anymore.
