It says on the wiki page the average height of US men from 20-29 is 5-10. I am almost exactly 5-11. My co worker who is a little shorter than me claims to be 6-1. I think every one adds like an inch to their height.
SWEAR that I am 6'3" or 6'4". I am a bigger guy. I always thought skinny guys seem taller than bigger guys. Oh Hwell
Its funny that people do that. One of my friends told me he was 5'11 when i'm taller and really 5'8 Lying about height, especially by more then a 1 or 2 inches is a bit pathetic lol. In shoes im about 5'9, for me to say i'm 5'9 is one thing. To say i'm 5'11 or 6 foot is crazy.
Legit 6'1" barefoot. 6'2" in shoes. I went to school for awhile in Singapore. I was really tall over there. I played center on the basketball team. Always though 5'8" - 5'10" was pretty average.
I'm 6'1, and I wouldn't say that a man was 'short' unless he was shorter than my wife, who is 5'1 barefoot. But that's just height. I honestly don't give a damn about how short or tall a person is.
I've had the same experience! My friend who is barely taller than me says he's 6 foot. But then I also have a buddy who is slightly shorter than me that states he's 5'10". Either their right or someone's lying.
I'm 5'10 and 18 years old. I wish I could be at least 6'2.. Basketball reasons but I've accepted that I might not get taller
five feet eight inches tall. I'm considered tall to short people believe it or not. I'm short to tall people. I know, I know, that sounds crazy. When playing basketball, people think I'm taller, like close to six feet. I think cause of my arms
I hate being 5'10. All my uncle's and grandpa on my mom's side are over six feet. I always say if I would have slept more as a kid and wasn't a fat ass back then either that maybe I would have stretched out to at least six feet.
I had an interesting growth history -- my dad is 5' 10" mom is 5' and most of the family is on the short side. I think the tallest woman in the family is 5' 3". I was really short until I was 15 (5' 3" ish) then *boom* I shot up. By the time I graduated from high school I was 5' 10". At 21 I hit 6' and a couple of years later I added another inch. Through my mid-twenties I added another inch and hit 6' 2". I think my growth officially stopped around 27-28 yo -- my feet stopped growing as well (size 10 at 20 yo -- 11.5 at 28 yo). So don't give up hope -- even if you come from a short family and you're short in your teens you can still have some major growth spurts into your 20's. I've read this is much more common than it used to be due to diet/ radiation/ etc.
Since we're on the topic, what do you guys feel about skeletal frame? Is it just as or more important than height (superficially speaking) ??
Yea, All the small guys in my family say they're 6', but it's funny to see my girl (who is actually 6') walk in for the holidays and tower over all of them. I would say 6'8 is tall and 5'5 is short. Those are basically the heights I can see out of the corner of my eye and think "wtf?" LOL...were you on HGH?
The problem is that most short people do not understand that with being tall there are also disadvantages. There is a reason there are very few super athletic 7 footers.
