i wish i was taller but it never got to me. im 5'6, but still arrogent and confident...sometimes too much. im blessed with a pretty face and b****es do crazy things to get my attention. being tall helps but it aint everything. one time i was chillin with one of my friends and he said "so did you stunt your growth or something?" lmao...i actually did tho, didnt drink my milk like a rtard plz make ur kids drink their milk. fortuneately i went to a high school where they didnt bully short pple, but not every high school is like that. being tall does help you in life, or not being short. especially if you wanna be a baller lol
I'm about 6 feet with shoes on but since I'm Asian I always get the "Holy crap you're tall for an Asian!"
I'm 6'7. I think people above 6'3 are tall. Below 6 feet are short. I do not really care for height, although i have to admit that i do not like it when i have to talk to people who are taller than me, I just feel uncomfortable when i have to look up. It is funny to see how short the people on this forum are, while complaining about our undersized 6'9 PF's.
To be fair, you live in the Netherlands and everyone is tall as fuark over there. Idk what they have been feeding you all over the past century because the Dutch were known to be incredibly short through history, no?
But yeah even in the U.S. 5'10 is considered "average" and I feel short more often than not. So I agree with the under 6 ft being short thing.
It is true the dutch are tall, when I travel I really feel tall. But i have to be fair, i'm also tall for dutch standards. I seldom meet people who are taller than me. Altough i see more people who are my height today than 10 years ago. I never understood why people need to tell their height including shoes. It depends on what kind of shoes you wear. My hieght was ofcourse also without shoes. It is interesting that the 2 europeans in this thread are the tallest.
Honestly I find the Dutch being really tall now as something really interesting. If you look at height avg's a hundred years ago, the Dutch were fairly short for european standards. I think the avg height was like 5'6 or something. Now I think they are the tallest in the western world with an avg height of ~6ft. What do you attribute the boom in height to? Would it just be better nutrition? Genetic changes? Idk.. Your neighbors, the Germans, have always been historically very tall. ATW's size does not surprise me as most people around the world (historically) probably consider Germans to be physically imposing people.
I think that is how NBA players' height is listed. Of course, any inch more would make it more likely to get drafted, so they will try to seem as tall as possible. Also, I guess short people prefer to list their height with shoes . Well, I'm half-Korean (although that's not totally obvious to everyone). I was Yao Ming before it was cool .
I'm Dutch as well and I'm 6'0 (though I'm not a pure blood, 50% Latin American, 50% white Dutch). I feel normal height to short in Holland, sometimes girls there are so tall I really have to straighten my back to still feel manly. In Britain, where I usually live, I rarely meet a girl who is anywhere near my height (when they're wearing heels) so that's always been a plus. I guess it's all quite relative. When I lived in Latin America I was one of the tall ones, easily.
6'4 used to come close to dunking now can't even come to close. Though my beer league softball skills have improved the last few years... It's nice to be able to have a chance with some taller women that most of my friends won't even talk to ..... I consider anything 5'10+ tall and anything else pretty short.....
I'm just a shade under 6'3". I was 5 feet tall when I entered junior high school and by the time I was a freshman in high school, I was pretty much what I am today.
