You don't ignore it at all, but you take the entire year in context...his averages are about the same up a bit here, down a bit there. Not at all improved.......almost exactly the same. DD
Hedo is a deserving winner, not only for the jump in his averages but the overall impact that he has had throughout the season. He has been very consistent for the Magic.
SVG deserves a lot of credits becoz he put Turkoglu into the position to succeed. When Turkoglu played for Pop or Brian Hill, they played Turkoglu as a spot-up 3 pt shooter. Turkoglu wasnt able to do too much although in some occasions he showed he got the moves. But damn, Turkoglu is only making 6 millions with 1 more season + player option. For a guy producing 19/5/5, that's a very good bargain.
agree with CriscoKidd. and the pun intended. I don't even think Hedo's the MIP on his own team. I think Dwight Howard is. dude...are you being serious? I really don't know what you're talking about. I meant nothing by my first post except "Rafer got a first place vote." is it the "ha!" that got you riled up? What about if I said..."look!" ... instead.
I didn't get riled up. But I was pointing out the "ha". Words and the way the are used mean things to people. Why say "ha" if it wasn't laughable to you? And you're poking fun at me...
because that is not what the word commonly means:
dictionary.com ha also hah
interj. Used to express surprise, wonder, triumph, puzzlement, or pique.
I think I meant each one of those...now that I think about it. What did you think I meant again?
Well it is called the most "IMPROVED" player, has Rafer improved in areas which are not covered by stats? DD
I really don't mean to give you or HeyP the wrong idea here because I respect both of your opinions. But I have got to say that Rafer's composure and even clutch shooting during the winning streak have a lot to do with our mediocre team (in Yao's absence) making the playoffs. We should be happy about Rafer's performance. Remember when AI won MVP of the year for the 2000-2001 season? Sure, he scored alot (31 ppg), but his overall FG% was .420 and his 3P% was .320. He had a 4.6/3.34 assist to turnover ratio, and led the league in total turnovers and turnovers per game. Why did AI get MVP? Not because he was any better than the year before, but because he improved his clutch play and did more to help his team win games. I will give you that Rafer didn't deserve to win MIP this year, but the fact that he received one first place vote is a fitting testament to the fact that we don't make the playoffs this year without Rafer playing as well during the 22 game winning streak as he did.
whoa, leave me out of this. You are disagreeing with DaDakota, not me. I merely pointed out that Alston got a first place vote as "triumphant surprise". Meant nothing more or less.
