True. It's a hunch. But I read some stuff when he left that said the Magic didn't think very highly of his off-the-court habits and that made them hesitant to offer the big bucks. Obviously the fit in Toronto and Phoenix was worse the Orlando, but I don't think he needs Howard to be effective. Hedo makes plenty of plays in transition, something Toronto and Phoenix offered him. I think the harsh criticism he got in Toronto embarrassed him and the losing situation in Phoenix didn't motivate him. Going back to Orlando gives Hedo a chance to prove he's not a slug. When a player goes from being ineffective to suddenly being very good after a trade, I think part of it is always the player, not just the situation.
This is not surprising at all to me. Turkeyglue is 100x more valuable to Orlando than he is to any other team. Those with a good pulse for the NBA should have sensed a trade or buyout/resigning to Orlando coming.
Turkoglu was already used to the system in Orlando, and most of the players there, he has played with before. It helps when your team's PG isn't really a playmaker (Arenas, Nelson.)
Seeing Turk become a good player again made me think that Carl Landry would be good with the Rockets off the bench. What do you guys think?
I have to admit I was a huge Hedo hater, especially after his stint with the Craptors. He has really turned it around, I guess he needed the right system, he isn't a fit for just any team. Still a shietty defender though.
Both. All the players above see the floor well and have natural passing skills. Playing in the Adelman system which encourages ball movement and passing made them better passers.
OT against Hornets now. dumb dumb mistake not to foul when Dwight had the ball but he did pass it out pretty fast.
Also Sacs' FO is pretty good. I forgot who he is but their GM is a very, very good evaluator of talent.
