It is just another record (not even first place at that) and records are made to be broken. The only thing I care about as a ROCKETS fan is improving the team and winning that ring. I could care less about individual awards. I could care less about others breaking our 22 game win streak. None of that matters at all.
Most people don't know about our 22 winning-streak, and most "experts" downplayed our winning streak, by using schedule, regular season, opponent, all kinds of "reasoning", if not entirely dismissed it. So, I am not that worried, but I don't want them to break it. One thing I can guarantee is, even if Heat just comes close to our record, it will be breaking news in the media for days. Yes, our record will be mentioned, but just as background trivia geek question. The emphasize will be Heat's determination, hard schedule, and the will their players show on their face. Battier will tell everyone, how this is SO different, because they are really winning now etc.
As real as it gets! Rockets' 22 in the East would be 44! lol I am more worried about our current winning streak!
what record? we didn't set any record. and we will still have owned a 22 winning streak even if they surpass it
Not at all. Too many factors affect winning streaks that long. The only thing that should ever matter is what we achieved in the playoffs. The only thing that matters in the season is what seed we are in. Did that 22 win streak give us a top seed? No it didn't. Did it get us to the WCF or Finals? No it didn't. Yes it was cool at the time, but it means nothing beyond that brief moment of excitement.
not in my opinion. it's a footnote in history. we would continue to be a footnote in history. all I remember about that season was listening in my car to the devastating news that Yao was shutting it down in order to heal for the Olympics and losing a series to Utah 4-2 in which we had home court advantage
