I like his work ethic by being earlier than his and the opponent's team for shooting practice. LeBron is also a hard worker but the 2nd ring is not as easy this time. Good acquisition by MIA.
I blame dictator sperm for the Miami championship. Had he let the lockout cover the whole season, none of this would have happened.
“The one thing that bothers me the most is guys taking big pay cuts for a year to go down there and try to win a championship,’’ Bird told ESPN. “There’s a lot of guys who like to ride the coattails of the best, and they’ll take a pay cut just to have an opportunity to win that ring.’’ ... “I always say you got to play by the rules, and, if that’s the rules, that’s the rules,’’ Bird told ESPN about how the Heat put their team together. “But to have the best player (James) and probably the fifth- or sixth-best player (Wade), and a top-20 player (Bosh), that’s tough to compete against.’’ JARRETT JACK <s>@</s>Jarrettjack03 Am I wrong for thinking ray allen is a traitor for signing with his rival team the heat? Tell me what u think!!!!!! It's just the fans crying, right? Heh...
this is what it comes down to. i remember seeing some stat about how great the heat's offense was when james jones was on the floor. and for good jones could shoot, he almost went a whole season without an unassisted basket, couldn't drive or do anything else on offense, and couldn't be relied on for defense or rebounding. if ray allen is healthy he can get himself open off screens, and he can still stay in front of people on defense (though obviously not everybody). if the bone spurs keep bothering him, then he could be of no real use to the heat. one thing he has that essentially no heat role player has is a quick release. he can get his shot off if the defense slacks even a little. if you have to stick to him like glue and still provide help on lebron and wade then the role players should be able to get even more open than before. or you will have to concede the occasional open look to allen. he could also be great for the times when people actually stop a lebron or wade fastbreak and allen can be the trailer to get an open 3 like he has done with the celtics all these years. it will be interesting to see if he meshes and if the heat can get a lineup like chalmers/allen/wade/lebron/bosh on the court. rebounding would take a hit but that would be a damn quick lineup with good shooters at the 1, 2, and 5. you would think signing camby makes sense for both parties. the heat need someone taller than 6'8 and camby needs to bring his rebounding talents to a good team.
what is ray allen supposed to do? care more about money than a ring? he's a few days away from turning 37. he's not leading a team to a championship. if he wants a ring, he's going to have to be a role player at this point. why care about a few more million when he's already made tens of millions in his career? JARRETT JACK <s>@</s>Jarrettjack03 Am I wrong for thinking ray allen is a traitor for signing with his rival team the heat? Tell me what u think!!!!!! but ray was definitely wrong if he didn't think he'd get some hate for joining the heat.
Lol at people calling Ray a ring-chaser. That's what the Celtics big 3 was in the first place. He can play where he wants, at least he's not just playing for the money.
This. Nobody blamed the Celtics three for teaming up. That's three hall of famers. LeBron-Wade-Bosh aren't three hall of famers. Bosh is iffy.
Jarett Jack is just a hater. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>RT @<a href="https://twitter.com/RealSkipBayliss">RealSkipBayliss</a>: Why did Kanye make a song dissing gold diggers only to date one a few years later? <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%2523UnansweredHipHopQuestions">#UnansweredHipHopQuestions</a></p>— JARRETT JACK (@Jarrettjack03) <a href="https://twitter.com/Jarrettjack03/status/221375176674263041" data-datetime="2012-07-06T22:48:49+00:00">July 6, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Why are people tripping? He'll be an upgrade over Mike Miller, but he's no longer an all-star or anywhere near it. Allen's role won't be as big in Boston (Bradley and Terry both playing SG). he wants PT, and he'll get that in Miami.
