The Bucks are looking for a PG but they have less money to offer than the Rockets.

Jones will end up coming here cause he's from here. CD will call his bluff and say "here's the offer 3 years at 2.5/yr. take it or leave it. I need an answer within 24 hrs" Jones will say ok, at least i'm home and can make some extra $$ in local commercials.

all my family and friends can come to my games, i'll make more money than ever before, and it's home.

then M. James will go out and have a break out year nest year and we'll be kicking ourselves.:D

What wrong with a 4 yr contract starting at about 3.5 per. It can be argued that Jones played better than Rafer, but look at his contract. After the season Lue is a fa and maybe Gaines can start to get some minutes. Hopefully in a couple of yrs Gaines can be the starter or at least split half the time. Cassel and smith did it, whats the poblem?

I expect DJ's agent is trying for a number like that (4/16, starting at 3.5) or maybe up to 4 years, 20 mil (almost full MLE).

I suspect we are low balling, 1/2 the MLE (start at 2.5) for 3 years (about 8 mil).

I'd split the difference, start at 3 mil per year (.6MLE) for 3 years, even with a player option on the 4th (4 years, about 14 mil). This is an important difference from the 3.5 mil starting salary as it leaves us a .4MLE (start at 2 mil per year)--significantly better than other teams who have used all their MLE (beats the 1.6 mil exemption) to look to pick up another player (Keon, Eric Williams, etc).
