i actually think this is great news.......if Miami offered him a contract, then they probably arent very confident that they can give Toronto what they want in an S&T

Man, I just cant believe that Bosh would sign a contract that isnt through a S&T...that would be a terrible financial decision.

Dude as much as I love Morey(No Homo). He can not pull that off, if we get Bosh, Scola is gone.

Get ready for a loooooooong weekend my friend. I don't think we'll see any major commitments before then.

Hill, Patterson, Battier, Jeffries and the Knick's 2012 pick is something I feel like the Raptors have to take. They get two lottery picks and possibly a third with the way things are looking for New York. They also get $14MM of the books next year. Plus they get a great veteran in Battier. You could also switch out Ariza for Battier in that deal if you want. I think Morey might not offer this deal before Toronto would turn it down because we are giving up a ton of youth with potential. However, when you still get to keep Scola and Brooks, get an all star, and still have a lottery pick the next year it's hard not to think its a great move.

I would assume the contract was offered because they already had a sign and trade ready to go.......

    Wouldn't you?

I don't know if offering a contract is a big deal because all the teams courting Bosh will offer a max contract. It's just about where Bosh decides go. What we learn from this is that Bosh won't commit to a team until he has met all of his suitors.

What you proposed is giving up way too much. There is a lot of untapped poteintal with Hill and Petterson. Their age is very key in this. Not only that, but the Knicks draft pick could be very high. Hill, Petterson, lottery pick? > Scola. The proposed offer the Rockets gave is very fair. Both teams are giving up something significant to receive a significant return.
