Battier will help Wade and Lebron with spacing if he shoots well from 3 point range. Everything else he brings to the table, the Heat already have. The heat still need to improve their rebounding and shot blocking. So, this deal alone isn't going to get it done.
SpearsNBAYahoo Marc J. Spears Shane Battier expected to announce decision to sign with Miami Heat today, source tells @YahooSports.
It's official, the Rockets need to win to attract FAs. Forget about 2012, let's turn this season into a long playoff run!
It may leave us as the only player in the Dalembert sweepstakes (if there ever was one), which drives his price way down. He wouldn't be so bad for 3-5 million. I still think Nene is a strong possibility.
Who's paying 8? Sacramento? EDIT: Don't mean to derail the thread, I've moved it over to the Dalembert thread in the GARM.
Yeah, if you want Wade and LeBron to play 40 mpg. None of their other wings can defend and knock down open shots like Battier (Miller is hurt and the rest simply can't do both). He will help a lot. You don't want your stars expending all that energy defensively.
