We should just trade the Reefer for some draft picks...?

Looks like a RealGM or Hoopsworld trade. Mourning would never be a Rocket. He'll retire if he come here.

Based purely on player talent -- salaries and expiring contracts aside -- that may the the biggest rumored trade I've ever seen that would make every team involved WORSE. Okay, if Mourning still has something in the tank, maybe the Rox would benefit.

I guess we can agree to disagree... that would be one of the biggest rip offs in terms of trade with us on the winning side. Warrick is an up and coming PF and Morning is still servicable. The only reason we even need a veteran pf is because we are unsure as to whether or not Scola can produce.

Even if this trade did go through. Does Mourning want to play anywhere but Miami. Remember he was traded to Toronto and just refused to report until he was bought out otr released. Maybe he plays here thinking he can win another ring, or maybe he says its Miami or retirement.

I'm not saying the trade is plausible... but if it did go through, it would be an absolute steal for us.

Sorry for the consecutive posts... but unfortunately, I don't have the edit function. Just to add to my earlier comment... the only way the trade can go through is if Mourning agrees to play elsewhere. The rockets will never make a trade for someone that doesn't want to play here, unless its for salary cap relief, which in this situation is clearly not the case.

We're basically getting a one year rental plus an extremely talented up and coming pf.

I would rather see us keep Rafer. I dont trust Steve and MJ to distribute the ball. I like the lineup:

    1: Rafer/MJ/Brooks
    2:T-Mac/Francis
    3:Shane/Bonzi
    4:Scola/Hayes
    5:Yao/Butler

Use Head, Synder, JLIII, Novak, Sura to try to go get us some picks, or maybe, just maybe an experienced, hard-nosed 4 like a Jeff Foster to put pressure on Scola to perform. I think we might find we need Rafer's skills as a distributor before too long. He's also an above-average defender.
