"This is not a "must-win" game. This was an opportunity to move up on Phoenix, the Rockets just didn't take advantage of it. They are still only 2 1/2 games out of the playoffs with an easy schedule remaining." What the hell do you consider a must-win game then???? Surely, you considered the Game 7's during the Rockets great playoff runs, as "must-win"... Geez, trying to downplay the importance of this game is flatout asinine... There is a very GREAT chance Rockets miss out by 2 games or less... If we do, then you can say that if the Rockets win this game tonight, we are in... Geez, expectations for the Rockets have hit an all-time low if a game like this is an average game... ------------------ Check out my homepage! Loads of sports pics! http://www.public.asu.edu/~sykim/
ZRB do u take riddilin? will u pleaz just shutup? it was an important game. but i wish jackases like u would stop weighing an entire season on a measly 48 min of basketball. its not over till itz over. until then shutup. when the rockets r officially out then u can whine to whoever u want to whine to. we r all upset about the game it was a poor loss but u dont help things. ------------------ --TEX
Stay positive, go ahead. Just prepare for the massive disappointment when they miss out. If they do make it, I will willingly eat my words. ------------------ Re-elect President Gore!
He is the CC.net Chat resident ass... someone I enjoy punting out of chat every so often just because he's an ass. He's the guy that will say the Rockets are choking when they're up 18 points in a game (no kidding...). ------------------ "I was arrested for sexual assault involving an elderly man and I was out in 35 minutes." -- Achebe - programmer by day, geriatric ass grabber by night. As(s?) a side note, he did state he was cleared of charges.
I had no problem with Walt being in the 4th quarter, he was hitting his shots. The problem I did have was the Kenny Thomas was not in...he played harder than anyone else on the court tonight, so he should have been in for Moochie. An absolutely devastating blow for this team...they were looking forward to this game and getting a win for quite a while. There is no one man on this team that could have stopped Shawn Marion in the 4th, exactly why we should have double-teamed him...Kidd was bricking layups all night, so I would have had Steve help out w/ Marion. The Rockets have yet to get over this hump vs the elite Western teams...and we've already had 3 chances, vs Portland, Dallas, and tonight...this one probably raised that hump a little bit because it is much more devastating than the other ones. It looks like now that the Rockets may have to get help to get in the playoffs, which means a lot of scoreboard watching. But I will not give up faith in this team...they've still got a lot of life, you just gotta BELIEVE. The only call I really got upset with was the open court charging call when Steve was taking it in on Robinson...Cliff was obviously falling down before Steve even got there. And one more thing...Why was Carlos Rogers not involved in the game? ------------------
Man this was a tough loss. I didn't actually get to catch the game but i just checked the boxscore and the fourth quarter looked terrible. we could've not only won this game but that portland game too but hey, we still got a long long way to go. I consider the game vs phoenix at home that we'll be playing in couple of weeks as a "MUST WIN". Hopefully we can recover from this and start another winning streak. I look at it this way, we could've lost against the hawks and the clips but we didn't. So atleast we got beaten up by a good team. ------------------ Baseball is wrong, a man with four balls can't walk.
Well I was really just pointing out the big games that we lost. And tonight we knew they were going to play like an elite team, so they were included. ------------------
That's true, the Suns were elite in the fourth. The Rockets were elite through three quarters. For three quarters, the Rockets played the best basketball of the season. In the fourth, they played their worst. I keep trying to tell myself, "they will learn from this". Still, there have been tons of games like this during the season, and the Rockets keep making the same mistakes. They are not developing, they are just doing the same stupid things over and over again. That is why games like this make me really doubt this team. In their last three games against decent teams from the west, the Rockets have been outscored by 10 or more in the fourth quarter. Inexcusable. ------------------ Re-elect President Gore!
What can I say!!!??? It's almost as bad as getting swept by the Sonics in 96. Oh so close but so f!*#ing damn far!Shows how much Dream was needed by the Rocks. ------------------ "The man who goes alone can start today; but he who travels with another must wait till the other is ready." -HDT
I'm sorry ZRB, but you are a pathetic rockets fan, and I really think you should shut up. First of all, The Rockets played great. they didn't win the game...Oh no, last second shot by Googs, pretty crappy, but damn, not worth being such an as#hole. Second this game wouldn't have been close if it wasn't for the refs. Third, screw the refs, who cares, we played with heart, and with 4 games (comeback games), in the last 5 days, and missing Hakeem who would have torn up their wannabe centers I think we did very well. Thats it, we lost, were still in it, no big deal, chill out. Rudy did not lose this game for us and on that technical, did you see how two or three players just abused Moochie and knocked him down with no foul, not to mention just after Steve got 2 and the foul and they called an offensive...come on...I yelled pretty loud, and I'm sure glad they can't give technicals to fans. good effort though overall, tough loss, but you can't do anything but win more games after this, geez, they only lost 4 games since the all star break, pretty impressive. ZRB you really need to get a life or a new team. peace ------------------ -jbond77
Is it impossible to give reasons for losses? Games are lost for reasons, I am only guilty of pointing those reasons out. ------------------ Re-elect President Gore!
You've pointed out those reasons in EVERY thread. I was offline all night and I come in to look at the threads and all I see is a 2:1 zrb:"everyone else" post ratio. Dude, it's annoying seeing you say the same **** in every thread, we get your point. When we win you sound the same as when we lose, it's annoying. It's pretty obvious you're not a Rocket's fan. When we win you talk about how we should NEVER trail these teams as if you're only good if you have the lead during the whole game. I'm proud of the Rockets tonight. They had no center. They took at a decent team to the brink in their arena with terrible officiating. You realize this was their 4th game in 5 days? Yeah they could have won, they're still a young team, young teams learn from games like these. I dont remember the exact threads but I do remember people going through the schedules of the contenders for the 8 spot and projected wins and losses. Alot of ppl projected this game as a loss for the Rockets and they still were projected to make the playoffs. What happens when we lose though? We get to listen to ZRB say "I told you so". How juvenile is that? Saying I told you so makes you really cool ZRB, I'm sure you must be proud the Rockets lost a game b/c then you get to tell everyone how you were right. You disgust me. ------------------ IT'S THE BAND GEEK MAFIA!!
We all new the Rockets were not going to win every game the rest of the way and we all new the Suns were not going to loose them all. This is one loss for the Rockets and one win for the Suns. Nothing else. The Rockets still have a favorable schedule compared to the Suns, T-Wolves and Mavs so stap panicking. We will loose more before the end of the season. Its the final record that counts though and we will see who gets in. ------------------
Hey, if ripping into me makes you feel better about the loss, fine. I prefer to rip into the multi-millionaires who play the damn game. Of course I'm not a fan, that's why I get so pissed off when they lose. ------------------ Re-elect President Gore!
Nothing more to say that already hasn't been said. ------------------ Charles Barkley on TBS on the "fat track" poll: "What? 47% said I'd gain more.....why those.....they better be glad this is a family show."
ZRB, dude... shut up already man. The Suns are a very talented veteran team. Losing to them on their court on the back end of a back to back is no disgrace or choke. The Rocks are young and tonight was just another learning experience for them. Their time is coming soon. ------------------ ZRB isn't misunderstood, he's a friggin TROLL!
