I am proud of these guys. Whatever happens for the rest of the season, I am proud as heck of these guys. We couldn't really ask for more... ------------------
Awesome post Tweak, good job! During the nets game, I'm afraid that you'll be crying if the Rockets give up 2 straight baskets, but this post is a good start. ------------------ "We've never been very comfortable with praising ourselves, but we're so proud of our new album, The Great Eastern, that we've got no problem telling people it's an absolutely fantastic record." I've tried and I've tried, but I just can't find anything negative about your post. Way to go, ZRB! One last time: MOOCHIE! ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
I picked the perfect game to go to. I dont know if you guys saw it on tv but Rudy looked like a mess after the 1st OT. His shirt was untucked, his tie was loose, he looked like hell. (I guess I wasn't the only one who noticed since I just saw a thread devoted to it ) That was awesome what Moochie did. Where are all of the people that said the starters should be in during crunch time? W/o Moochie we lose and any chance of the playoffs dies. There's something special about this team. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Band Geek Mobster (edited March 14, 2001).]
Incidentally, in case anyone's wondering, if the Rockets would have played at this clip (15-4) the whole season, they would end up with a record of 65-17 (the math is easy). Amazing... They're playing some pretty ******* good ball right now... I repeat: This is a HOT team! Something a few coveted FAs might want to look at (CWebb, are you watching?)... I predicted 49-33 at the start of the season. I think that's a more valid prediction than ever, considering our schedule. ------------------ [This message has been edited by treeman (edited March 14, 2001).] [This message has been edited by treeman (edited March 14, 2001).]
The fact that through injuries, trade speculation, lineup changes, press criticism, and so much more that doesn't hit the public this team has battled on against the best players in the toughest conference and still have a great shot at the playoffs is alone amazing. Plus this is being done while the Rockets are rebuilding with a group of kids in a new system just adds to the magnitude of what they are doing. If that doesn't show the heart that these guys have what will? ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams and Lisa Malosky fan club. atheistalliance.org
DeanB: Exactly. Although there were no trades this season, and there were no major lineup changes (Shandon to SF and Cat to starting SG would be the only one, and Shandon's a swingman anyway), injuries have definitely hurt us. But nothing new there... This is a YOUNG team trying to get to the playoffs - against all odds - and it's won 15 of 19. That in itself is amazing. Whether we make it there or not this season, this is surely a great accomplishment... I personally have never heard of any NBA team EVER rebuilding within 3 years to contend (I expect better things next year ) That usually takes from 4 to 10 or more years. I think CD has probably saved the organization upwards of $40 million over the long run, in that respect - he's a pure genius... Thank you, God, for delivering these people to us when we needed them. Oh, and thanx to CD too... (Who here doubts that 5 years from now the Rocks will have 3 rings?) ------------------ [This message has been edited by treeman (edited March 14, 2001).]
Picking up and Mo as a FA was a big lineup change from last year, and it took the team some time to fit him into the system. Dream didn't start to turn the corner until last month, now he's injured. Mo started the season injured, as did Cato, and now even Walt got injured. This team is amazing! Oh yeah, and Rudy looked like he ran a freaking marathon! ------------------ The Heart of a Champion still beats. . .
