thats' right SEC.. langhi tore it up here at vandy..... i guess he'll get to hold off on using his vandy education another year since he got another nba job.....
Good luck to Dan Langhi-seriously. I hope he does well. Remember when we -Rudy considered using him at shooting guard-tough matchup. I always wondered about DL ball handling being a handicap. Can you imagine his guarding Iverson. Though he would probably do better than Matt Maloney did against Stephon Marbury..... Good Luck Dan
Phoenix also signed Benetton's Treviso's coach D'Antoni as an assistant early this month. He was Boki's and Tskitishvili's coach. Something tells me they have visions of Euro, perimeter shooting/slashing grandeur for Langhi like Rudy did. I wonder what Marbury thinks. lol
Langhi signs with suns Bob Young of the Arizona Republic reports that the Suns signed another forward yesterday. Houston free agent Dan Langhi accepted a partially-guaranteed minimum salary deal. Langhi was planning to pla in Europe until Wednesday when he heard from the Suns. "You don't know how happy I am right now. You could call my wife," Langhi said after the club's final informal workout at America West Arena. "This is a great situation. It's a young team, and we've got a lot of good players. It's a great opportunity." Langhi was the 31st pick in the 2000 draft and had his rights traded to Houston. 2-years with the Rockets was not good for his game. "I really didn't fit in there," he said. "I enjoyed my two years there. I just didn't think that was the best opportunity for me as a player to improve Everybody treated me nice, just basketballwise it wasn't the best for me." The 6-11, 220-pound Langhi, will try to win a spot on the roster as a backup forward.
Every player that has promised revenge against the Rockets (for cutting him) has had good games against us...but, that same player then fades. So, I say to Dan Langhi, "If you need a team to waive you in order to motivate you, then you have problems!"
Damn Lanky had some shooting skills from what I saw, but the boy looked clueless out on the court at times. I thought they only let bright people into Vanderbilt... maybe it was Vanderbilt High School? I always thought that a 6'11" guy with shooting skills and mobility would be great, but hell, we've apparently got a 7'5" guy with shooting skills and mobility. I'll miss one half of the Air Ball Boys (the other being TMo). You could count on one of them airballing one of their first 2 shot attempts so bad they'd miss everything but the planet itself. Ah well, I still remember the hype surrounding Damn Lanky when he first came to Houston. I thought I would be famous copyrighting the phrase "Damn Lanky". I guess it didn't quite work out to be as popular as "Clutch City". Good luck Dan... and your dad DaDakota still loves you.
The Rockets have Signed Brown And Torres Sept. 26 - The Rockets have signed guards Tierre Brown and Oscar Torres to non-guaranteed contracts, general manager Carroll Dawson announced today. Both players will participate in Rockets training camp, which begins on Tuesday, Oct. 1 in Austin, Texas. Rockets.com
Good luck, but I don't see him lasting very long. He would not have seen much action on the Rockets teams so this is a good new start for him.
Dan can play, but he never got a chance to show it in Houston. His biggest problem was that he was used to having the ball...ALL THE TIME.... He is not a catch and shoot player, he is a rythmn player. I think he will excel in Phoenix. Maybe ! DaDakota
Now that DaDakota has checked in, the only thing still missing is alaskansnowman coming to this thread to tell us that Langhi will average a double-double in Phoenix .
