Then why were they grilling him about the Blue Jays head trainer (among others) not seeing an abcess during the time that McNamee said it was there in 1998. McNamee even said he couldn't say why they didn't see it.
Testifying doesn't equal innocence to me, either. But typically in this country a man doesn't have to prove his innocence. That's really what I'm driving at.
Agree- A man shouldn't have to prove his innocence in America. I think Roger should tell the truth and go home and sleep peacefully. I really hope he didn't do steroids and he isn't lying.
Actually, each of the team doctors said in their sworn depositions/affidavits that they didn't recall him having an abscess. The doctor who ordered the MRI said he was concerned about a torn muscle. The team records show that right around that time the team doctor had given Roger a B-12 injection, and McNamee's own assertions about the timeline of injections would indicate he hadn't given Roger a steroid shot around that time. I guess you missed all that.
I'm a republican. Late to this thread. Whom should I side with? Seriously speaking, a coworker here said there's an MRI or x-ray or something related to Clemens having a huge bulge of a tumor-like thing from getting shot with HGH or something like that... at least that's what he heard... was this shown on TV or released to the media at all?
Got no clue - didn't see that portion. But they absolutely grilled Clemens over the team medical report and MRI on the two abcesses on his rear. Grilled him over not handing them over (Senate got them on their own "with difficulty") and over the fact that it was nearly impossible that the B12 or strained muscle excuses would hold water. Clemens hemmed and hawed and threw the Toronto doc under the bus, guessing that he gave him a "bad shot." Evan
And then senator who wasn't anti-Clemens refuted him and said there was a report that said otherwise. All of the team doctors said they didn't see an abscess and the records confirmed a B-12 shot was administered.
Doesn't change the MRI or invalidate the original report. No one denies that he did get B12 shots from the team. That doesn't mean McNamee wasn't administering steroids by injection outside the team doors. McNamee said his administrations led to the abcess, and whether or not a B12 was given during the same time doesn't change that at all. Personally, I'd have to wonder if that other report was a cover up and if the docs are just keeping their mouths shut about it. Evan
The side that thinks that this is a joke and a waste of taxpayer's money. They are trying to figure out who lied about taking a legal (against MLB rules, but legal) drug. Entertaining, maybe, but it's still a ridiculous waste.
I knew I wasn't hearing things. Didn't McNamee say this happened in Tampa while the Jays were there in late-July, early-August, yet the Jays were there in June and September?
Right, but two different doctors interrupt the MRI differently, and neither one say it's conclusive at all. Secondly, McNamme's own timeline of the steroids shot doesn't conicide with the "abscess" or MRI dates. Thirdly, McNamme doesn't say he caused an abscess. He says a trainer told him that Roger had one and Mac is speculating he may have been the cause. The trainer has denied under oath that he told Mac that.
To me it's not a matter of being one month off though. He used a specific team they were playing and what clubhouse this all happened in to "certify" what he was saying. Turns out it doesn't fit his timeline though.
