    1. He gets not bonus. But there is nothing Clemens can give us BUT his testimony. That's the nature of something like this. Again, what would you have him do? What would you have him show us? Tell us how you would prove the negative??

    2. The second part is silly to me. This guy went to attorneys immediately...because that's what people do when they face allegations like this. Many of you said he'd plead the 5th...or he'd never address it. He did address it. He didn't take the 5th. That he sought legal advice is in no way an indication that he did it. I find that argument to be completely illogical...and assumes that how you might handle a problem would be how everyone would. We have no idea what Clemens was thinking at that moment. But being named in that report, alone, was akin to a guilty verdict in the court of public opinion.

    For MadMax:
Yes, Andy did lie. I knew* he was lying when he gave the statement. I correctly predicted that there would be camps of players that would go with the "I used it once to recover from injuries and feel bad about it" Minimizer and that there would be camps that would go with a "This report is based almost solely on hearsay from two out of work trainer with legal issues, and I hope no one takes it seriously" Non-denial Denial.

Point I was making was that the admission of EVER using was going to be enough for most in the public. You used, you used. I could care less about a full and complete list of the substances, volumes, injection dates, or the rest of the history behind it. If you want to give a half-lie and see you used it "but only that one time"...fine.

It's like Clinton's famous "I never inhaled" line. Everyone knows, but who cares anymore.

Had Barry Bonds, Pete Rose, or anyone else had immediately admitted they did but lied about how deep, it would have blown over. But when it's like pulling the confession out of a child...that's what gets most people bent out of shape.

    Evan

*obviously, no one here can truly "know" anything

"I was trying to help ya'll out. I'm hurt by those statements"

Roger is lying through his teeth right now.
