How in the world do you ever link being pro gun to pro killing. Guns do not kill people, people using guns kill people. Criminals are going to get guns whether they are legal or no not. Limiting gun ownership will only take guns away from law abiding citizens.

Most industrialized countries don't have a single payer system. In fact, relatively few actually do:

Its a misnomer that universal coverage and single payer are highly correlated.

Good luck trying to get these Obama homers to understand that a lot of people won't be able to afford to buy this insurance.

Maybe single payer was the wrong term. They aren't singe payer, but they are primarily government financed.

You have to take the profit element out of healthcare.

That will more than likely cause a lot of the best and brightest people who might have gone into the healthcare field to chose another career.

No it won't. College professors in general have the highest IQ of any profession and many of them become professors, because they like to research and learn. Some of them make a lot of money some of them don't, but some of them just want figure out what world tick.

Granted some are in the profession to better mankind. Most, more than likely, do not go through 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, X number of years of residency depending on their field, and rack up hundreds of thousands of dollars of student loans to not make a high profit.

Most doctors income isn't the problem(especially general practitioners), but rather the massive profits earned by insurance and drug companies. The stockholders get those profits.

And nobody is talking about reducing the amount of money that doctors make, we are talking about reducing the amount of money that insurance executives make.

He probably won't answer. The true irony is that Batman is good at making sniper remarks like this.

Scientology is legally recognized as a tax-exempt religion in the United States and some other countries.

No these cases have gone both ways and there is no clear cut rule.

If you ignore this mandate and don’t get health insurance, you’ll have to pay a tax penalty to the federal government, beginning in 2014. This fine starts fairly small, but by the time it is fully phased in, in 2016, it is substantial.
    _____

How much are the tax penalties going to be and how much will they go up through 2016 ?

Killing and wounding are not just some of the things guns do -- they are the purpose of guns. WWJD?

I'm not angry. I'm over the moon that we are on the brink of real health care reform that will save hundreds of thousands of lives, despite the cruel indifference of "conservatives" like Mojorge and "Christians" like cml750.

Guns do make it a heck of a lot easier to kill someone. If you only had knives, it'd be much tougher. Most cowards who hide behind the barrel wouldn't have the nerve to get close and stab someone to death.

I've used guns throughout my life, but I don't worship and stroke them like they are my second penis, and I certainly don't need access to anything more than a couple of pistols, a shotgun, and a deer rifle at most.

Most gun nuts are insecure and easily threatened, regardless of the persona they try to project.

I guess cml750 probably doesn't think poison kills people either.
