Yes, that thread was what he was referring to. How do I know? Basically, you know when you look up in the sky and see the sun and you notice it's pretty high up there? Well somewhere, higher than that, is a horse about that thread, and SportsRadio610 is sitting on it.

Very hard thing to go through for Tracy. When you consider that his son was just born and the baby's grandmother was sick, that is a lot of emotions there. I do wish he hadn't told the media about it though, in particular this:

"I've dealt with family members passing away, best friends getting killed," McGrady said. "This is a lot worse than that because it's a combination of things in different areas. I'm in a tough stage of my life right now."

... it's going to lead to a lot of, "What could it possibly be?".

I don't see how this thread changes that. I would say that about any athlete.

he still shouldn't let it affect his play on the court.

We have discussed this before - yes they do. The Rox know this site and they mornitor us from time to time. They know the power here. I believe it is mostly for front office reasons and front office people. Journalists and radio heads come here as well.

Then buy yourself a robot who plays like Tmac, and I'm sure you'll be happy.

People have emotions, and emotions effect us, for good or for bad. If you want to change human nature and make humans emotionless, give it a try and let me know how it goes. If you are successful, we'll make sure to give Nobel Prize a call on your behalf.

I'm seriously trying to think of any NBA in my 20 years of watching every use his personal life as an excuse for poor play. I really can't other than guys like shawn kemp who let some personal problems get out of control.

You should be equally serious in trying to find any other NBA player who has lost someone close in NINE CONSECUTIVE YEARS while suffering back injury and knee tendinitis in the same season in your 20 years of watching. Good luck!

If I included in-laws and friends, I could name nine people who died in the last nine years.

edit: and I couldn't name another player, that's sort of the point. no other player constantly talks about personal problems.

Didn't Jordan retire from basketball because of his father's death?

I don't know you, but let's set up a scenario...

You lose a loved one. It will obviously show on you somehow...body language, whatever. But that person...is gone, forever. It's not the first time either, you've lost someone close to you before. And as soon as you think you are starting to be able to get on with your life, another person dies, and another...keep going with that trend.

Now the woman you love has lost her mother. She just bore your child. Can you imagine what the does to a woman? Now, there are rumors...is she cheating on you, are you a chump, you are a wuss. You can't avoid it, you are a public figure. And this is before your fiance's mom has even passed. Then she does. And guess what, you still gotta do your job. Yep, somethign in life we all do, times get tough, we still go to work.

Now...you are telling me, your work would still be 100% of what you were doin' before? People all around you talking, whispering, feeling sorry for you...hating on you. You'd be ok? Something's missing bro...

That doesn't make it any less tragic. And besides, were any of them shot?
