And I'll stick with mine. It is the correct one. Rome even tells the story. And I heard it from someone else who knows the other player I can't think of.
I hate it when the talk show host thinks they know more than anyone else, then do everything to suck up to get big name athletes on their shows. Cannot stand either Patrick, or Rome.
This is so childish. The fact you conjured up a rebuttal to counter the otherpost. I thought you guys (including Rivaldo) would take the high road and just ignore the other guy. I suppose guys like you are already sharpening your matches for Yao and T-Mac.......hoping that they fair for the sake of your idol Steve. Common my fren let it go.
So why didn't you tell the other guy to let it go? Oh because you don't like Francis. That's what's stupid. And personally, I found T-Mac parody's funnier.
Franchise was on Rome today, but I only heard the last 2 min or so as I was heading out to lunch. I heard him joking wonedering why Shaq had to follow him out East. Anyone hear the whole interview? Did he say anything worthwhile?
I listened to most of it. Steve was diplomatic about his relationship with JVG. He took the classy route and didn't say anything negative about the guy or the Rockets. And he was thankful that he had Cat with him in Orlando(he used the Batman & Robin reference). And yes, Rome was preempted because of the stupid BNBA broadcast, so I had to catch the interview in streaming audio.
That's a good recap of the interview. The same quotes about, "it's a business, etc". Steve was very classy about the whole incident and very respectful about the Rockets. He was asked about Yao's ever developing a mean streak and he said he didn't think he would ever be "mean", but that he is very talented and will be great. He also said he thought TMac would do very well in Houston and that JVG would probably turn him loose and take advantage of his game. (I took that to mean he wouldn't be as restricted as Steve was) Rome gave him a couple of opportunities to criticize the Rockets and JVG, but Steve wouldn't bite. He kept saying he worked hard to build the Rockets back up and the Rockets gave him a great opportunity and always treated him well. I'm glad that Steve has taken the high road and hope he does well the rest of his career.
Yep. All he managed to do was to prove my point that too many people take the game of basketball waaaaay too seriously. Jeez, folks. You should be enjoying this. Not stressing over it like it's life and death.
Yeah it was childish, but to you it only became childish when it became about T-Mac....T-Mac has had a worst characted than steve his entire career yet by most of you he is regarded as Mother Theressa. No.....B/c I am Rockets and have been one since '91. Like I said, I like T-Mac and is one of the few players I would have been happy to trade Steve for. I only rebutted in the way I did b/c I hate listening to dumbasses who think they are basketball experts bash Steve after the guy busted his ass for the team, yeah he turns the ball a lot but the good of his game by far outways the bad yet you continue to act like the guy is a CBA player. I have never dissed Yao, even when most of so called Rox fans wanted to trade the #1 pick to get Odom and some other experienced player rather than take a chance on an unknown. I think Yao & T-Mac will be great together so long as T-Mac has learned his lesson that he can't win on his own like he thought he could when he had Vince Carter, and hopefully he will be satisfied with not taking 25 shots/game.
Rome is still chasing. Yeah, J Stew is still chasing. Hopefully we will have him on in the first hour. Phenomenemoneal!
