Just a heads up. These guys will interview DM way better then Lopez and Vandermeer IMO. http://www.790kbme.com/main.html
Wow and then Donaghy at 9! What a great way to start the day! I can wait to hear the question "Tell us about Rocket ref biases"
Morey is talking to his high school basketball coach. Morey addressed the Ariza volume shooting situation and Morey said it's all for his improvement to be a 3rd option next year. He also said that Trev will do what the TEAM needs to win games so there is no issue with him wanting more shots as opposed to just doing what coach wants. Talking about The Tim Donaghy situation...Morey blasting him and backing up Stern.

that's interesting, given that on a healthy team this year i'd put ariza as the 6th option behind yao, tmac, scola, landry, and brooks...so for him to move up to third next year is quite a stretch. Would that possibly mean Tmac AND scola won't be resigned?
I am a female Morey fan listening from Ohio does that count? Of course I missed listening live... sigh... I need to check Clutchfans first thing in the morning more often
At this point its a long shot that Tmac is resigned imho, maybe they believe it should be Yao-Brooks-Ariza?
I feel like this year they are playing Ariza as 1st or 2nd scoring option. I think that it means that he would be behind either Yao and possibly someone they sign or Landy. I think regardless, McGrady isn't getting resigned here.
Maybe in 3 years, but there's no way Ariza improves enough in one season to be ahead of scola AND landry next year. Even in 3 years it's a long shot. I think they want to put Ariza in front of brooks because even though brooks is talented, his size makes it difficult to make him a top option you can go to consistently. Then i think they'll let scola walk or trade scola or landry plus tmac for bosh+fillers, making it yao, bosh, ariza. and either scola or landry off the bench...i dont know anymore, maybe i'm reading too much into it, but it's odd for morey to specifically say 3rd option next year. This year it makes sense or if Yao wasn't coming back next year, but witha healthy roster? Doesn't make sense..
the point i'm trying to make is that he isn't that kind of player and won't be in a year...i mean, who here wants this trevor ariza as the third option next year? Who wants him as the 1st or second this year? He's not ready for it and a year won't be enough. Doesn't make sense to me to put him over landry or scola when they are much much much more efficient.
i don't get that. and i'm sure morey is smarter than that. it doesn't matter how much ariza improves, he's not going to be a better scoring option that landry/scola/brooks. that makes him at most a 4th or 5th option.
exactly, i can't believe more posters aren't realizng what this could mean...morey has to be much smarter than that, which makes me believe they want a "big 3" type of lineup. In other words, i'd expect them to go after a big name so that player can become the #2 behind yao and that would mean guys like scola and brooks/landry would be gone. How, i don't know, trade seems the most likely scenario, but i can't imagine morey thinking that far ahead based on a trade that's not even ont he table yet, at least i can't imagine it is. The other way is free agency, but if we let every single expiring go, how much space does it leave us with? I dont remember it being enough to a big name and that would still leaves us with landry and brooks. I can see the rockets deciding Brooks isn't going to cut it as a go to player, but instead a bobby jackson type with a better jumper, so they could keep him as a 4th option, but Landry? It would be insane for Landry to stay and not be ahead of Ariza as an option.
Landry, scola, and possibly brooks could all be the expected second option between yao and ariza as well. Or it could be a player we acquire via trade.
i think morey wants to get a 2nd all-star next to yao. the only way trevor is going to be 3rd option is if we let brooks/landry/scola (at least 2 of them go). and we may only get that star possibly if we package 2 of those 3 guys in a trade (maybe along with tmac). morey does think far ahead so i don't know. brooks' and landry's values have increased this year. those guys aren't "stars" so i'm sure morey would be willing to give them up to acquire a star.
