The Cat in response to barbourdg's concern of poor performance in the first revue game: I found it interesting that when I expressed the same concerns about the same game (that I did attend), The Cat concluded that I was speaking out of my arse as well. My god, I guess there is no point to having a BBS then. I give up just about. There is no hope. You just try and share your opinion around this place and you get crucified. If you can share your opinion that the Rockets made a bad pick, why can't I share mine that we made a good one? I'm not saying anyone is stupid. Achebe- I went and looked up the thread. ALL I SAID was that Collier was not at 100%. Read the article in the Houston Chronicle, and that will confirm it. The other thing I said is that MManal and RF34 would know more about Collier than you. Well, they've watched Collier play for four years and scouted him very well before the draft. Do you honestly believe that you know more than they do? I just don't find how those comments I made at you are so outrageously wrong. What is you guys problem with me any way? I'm sorry if I have offended anyone, but Achebe, please tell me what was wrong with that post I made. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I'm being serious. What of those two things did you object to? The Cat: I admitted to piling on (sp?). Your responses were totally logical. I was just pushing back because there is the possibility that Collier will suck. I don't want him to suck, as I know that you do not either. I wish there were merely a distinctive comment voiced one way or the other about Collier's status. No, there's no ill will. I'm not like that. As you can see by my posts, I always try to be optimistic on things. Like you said, it's all good. I know he can suck, and I don't try and deny that. I don't go around saying that Collier will be ROY or a steal for us. Potentially I think he could be a steal (although of course not ROY) but I recognize that I don't know either. He seems to fit very well with this team, and I think he COULD be a plus for us over the long run. But so many people here act like they already know that Collier sucks and that the Rockets as a whole will suck. That's all I object to, and if I take it overboard at times I'm sorry to other posters here. I just honestly wish some of you guys would withhold your judgment on Collier a little, because as I hope you can see you have very little facts to base your opinion of that on, so to a degree it is wrong to say how you KNOW he will suck at this point. I've seen him too, and so have a lot of draft experts I've talked to, and I myself and them believe he does have the talent. Hey Cat, I know why everyone is getting on you. It's the Rockets fault. We're all getting tired of saying basically the same things over & over. They need to leak some new info to us. Where's Oeilpere,Doc Rocket,Clutch, & I know I'm leaving somebody out? The folks in the know. I know, maybe the Rocks are keeping quiet because they have another big blockbuster trade in the works & the posters in the know are afraid that they might slip up, so they are staying away until AUG.1. That's got to be it! So, here's what we do. In stead of tearing each other up like a bunch of starving tigers, let's think of the most unbelievable deals that we can't see any way of ever happening, & see who will be the closest to being right. After all, who honestly can say that they saw the Francis, Drexler, Barkley, Pi..Pi..Pi.. (sorry , I can't say the name) deals actually being pulled off? It probably has to be a deal with one to three teams & can only be a single deal. I'll go first. The Rocks send Cato,Walt, + 4.5 mill exception to the Bulls. The Bulls send Fizer to the Clipps & Hawkins to us. We send Drew to the Clipps. The Clipps send us Miles & Nesby. I've posted this idea on other threads,but this one is a little different. It doesn't cause the Clipps to take on anymore salary as Nike was kind enough to point out to me that they don't like doing. Remember guys, only trades that you can't see ever being pulled off & they have to make some sense. Can I get in on this Catfest? First, LHutz's post was the best on this thread so far. Second, although Cat is sometimes an annoying poster when he sides with Coach on all the conspiracy garbage, Cat posts a lot of good stuff that is intelligent and a good read. Nobody is perfect...except for me! But that is another topic for another time! As for the draft picks, we all know that they most likely suck, will suck later, and forever suck after. We had the eighth pick and I think we wasted it. But, I am starting to look at the bright side of things. Next year, we will probably have a higher pick, cap room AND a chance at blowing it again! Almu-come on, don't put me with Coach. I don't and never have thought there was a league wide conspiracy by Stern, etc. to fix the games. I just think in the crucial moments of big games, the refs had a tendency themselves to favor the Lakers. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just saw it that way. My problem with Collier is that he that he made the 3 a major part of his game in college. In order to be effective, he really needs that shot. However, his % in college was low enough to imply that he won't be able to make the shot consistently in the pros. This reduces his value considerably. ps. I was at the Rocky Mountain revue, and Collier had butter fingers. ------------------
