Knits- that comment was about me listing my personal accomplishments in response to a person insulting me as a person and my intelligence. But, I do see your point. If I have offended anyone, sorry, and I will try not to in the future.

Oh come on Clutch, not you too!! It seems like everyone is on me today. Guys I'm sorry if I offended you. Clutch- I meant nowhere did I call you ignorant as a total person, which is different than being ignorant on one certain aspect of something. [IMG]

    Cats cool.

He meant to say hush, not shut up.

BTW, I think Rudy did a excleent job by snagging Dan Langhi. I think he'll be a hell of a player for us. Anytime you have a young 6-11 Small forward, he's bound, eventually to create mismatches, especially offensivley.

Collier on the otherhand was, well, just not a very smart move.

Moiso, Etan Thomas, or even a Donnell Harvey would of been wiser choices. We need guys like these who are willing to get down and dirty in the paint, and snag some offensive rebounds, and clear some space for Francis.

We need an enforcer, thats what we need.

Amen ROCKETBOOSTER. I couldn't agree with you more. I personally don't want our power forward hanging out at the arc jacking three's all night long. They need to be in the paint scrambling for rebounds. We're not a very good rebounding team. We could've used a banger more than Collier's outside shooting touch.

I think our offense is geared to having our power forward hanging out at the arc and shootin 3's. We need to open up lanes for Francis/Mobley?? when they drive. The only way to do this is to have a big man with range, like Collier. While Collier isnt' a banger, he does have a nice post game, runs the floor well, and also I hear is a good dirty work rebounder. If Rudy thought a banger would be better, then he could have easily gotten someone like Etan Thomas.

I guess leading the ACC in rebounding means absolutely nothing.

    Cat,

    <sincere advice>
Maybe you need to just slowly back away from the keyboard, keeping your hands in sight at all times [IMG] Seriously, don't take all this too hard. You're just having a bad day.

Let it go. Don't respond to anything at all for a day or two and then come back strong. Sometimes these things tend to spiral out of control very rapidly and it's best to just take a break. When you come back, you'll be surprised at how much better it all feels.

    Just some friendly advice.

I wonder if other facts of life piss off the cat as much as the fact that collier sucks. Nellie might be a horrible GM but the picks of Dirk, Courtney, and Etan sure look good to me. There is no way you could possibly defend this draft other than the fact that we got a 1st rounder next year. Thats It. I'd be more than happy to look like a fool on this board with my prediction but that just aint gonna happen. Lets face it we could have had a good 2 or an athletic 4. What we came up with was an athletic Danny Schayes. So unless you think Danny Schayes is worth the number 9th pick in the draft then stop saying to wait till the season starts. You are the same people who were predicting that we would be in the playoffs last year after the Pimple trade. I and a few other guys were the ones being called pessimists after telling it like it is, and once again I'm just telling it like it is. We WILL be worse than last year WITH OR WITHOUT Cuttino.

Again guys, don't jump on me for saying this. I just have a real question. If Cuttino were to resign, how would we be worse? We would have the same team plus two draft picks, and you know the team will be improving. No way can the draft picks hurt the team.

How do you know Collier won't pan out and that he is a Danny Schayes? You haven't seen him play one game, and none of us have seen him in the NBA. It's impossible to KNOW someone won't work out without seeing them play. How can I defend the draft? Collier possibly was the best player available for our team at pick 9. Maybe he is, and maybe he isn't, but you do not know that yet, no matter what you say, because none of us have seen him play a game. Nothing about Collier is a FACT now, it is all opinion as none of us have actually seen him play an NBA game. That's why I think we should withhold our judgment on him until after the season starts.

Also, if you are telling it like it is, why can't you prove it? Are you a psychic who can see what our future holds? Do you know that we won't sign lewis or Croshere? Do you know that this team won't continue as it did in the last month of the season beating teams at the top of the league? Do you know that Collier will be a bust? Now could you be right on those accounts? Possibly, although I doubt it. But there is no way, period, that you know those things. You may think that, but to "tell it like it is" you need to base it on more than simply your own opinion. I personally think Collier will pan out to be a good pick for us, Cuttino will resign, we will get Croshere, and we will be a playoff team. Is that a lock to happen? Not at all. But there is no way as of July 24th that your opinion is more validated than mine.

    Sheesh,

God forbid anyone be opinionated here at the bbs.

Cat can be a bit abrasive at times but I have yet to see him come anywhere close to malicious.

Its all in good humor, people -- get off his back.

The Cat holds that record... and has held it for a few weeks now... I don't think Da Franchise comes close... or maybe I'm getting the two confused. That's likely as I'm entering old age... [IMG]

Teams that were better than us had better drafts. Teams that were worse than us got better. So are we the only team that knows how to improve? These picks IF they pan out are nothing more than depth. They are not franchise players. There is no way in hell that Langhi or Collier are franchise players. With that in mind depth doesn't make a weak team better. We need stars, and stars are not what we got. Seriously how long do you think Vancouver will be a lotto team? The organization is much stronger now and they have one hell of a team now. Look at Minnesota we would have never guessed they would EVER be better than us, ESPECIALY without Marbury, but they are. If the Clippers would hire a quality coach they would also be better than us. Hell I think the Warriors will even be better than us. They have so much talent on that team and having watched a lot of there games I know the talent can be saved with a good coach. Now don't get me wrong I am a Rockets fan but I love sports so I analyze the league without bias(other than Utah). Look at the Titans all it took was some veteran leadership and a new star. So we can't assume that we are better than anyone just because we are who we are. That is what killed the Celtics and what is killing the Bulls. This draft would have benefited a team such as the Knicks not us. We drafted for depth and that can only help a contenders not pretenders. If you want to debate me on any of these subjects just email me. I will give you my reasons why I think the Rockets will suck next year and I will give you my reasons why I believe Collier is a wasted pick. Also I am up for any discussions on the NBA in general or Football, Boxing, or Soccer as these are my sports expertise. I ain't saying I am a guru or psychic or anything like that but I KNOW a wasted pick when I see one, but like I said earlier I would be the happiest man on Clutchcity.net if I become the laughing stock of the BBS for predicting the NBA Rookie of The Year, a bust.
