Just about every major city in the US has better freeways than Houston. That isn't saying much. Dallas' are awful compared to other progressive cities. I take it you haven't been out of Houston much lately?

I'd rather drive in Houston..the drivers are friendlier, and the signs are much better marked. Up here the signs are usually very close to the actual exit so if you don't know where your going, you have to drive like a maniac to move over to the exit lane. If theres a left exit, some times they don't tell you its on the left & you won't know it until you actually see it..then you have to scramble to get over.
By my house, to exit to the freeway that goes to the left, you have to be in the right lane..and to exit the freeway that goes to the right, you have to be in the left lane.
The exits for HWY 360 from I-30 are all insane, they make absolutely no sense. You have to exit, go over the freeway, make a U turn, then hit a traffic light, and then turn onto the feeder road for 360. Getting from 360 to 30 is equally baffling.
The loop in Dallas, although it does go all the way around, is mainly stoplights, like driving down 1960 back in the '90s.

No way. Houston drivers aren't friendly. dallas drivers are just stupid. I drove up there for 4 years; I had to re-learn how to drive because they're all so freaking stupid.

When I came back to Houston, I had forgotten the old Houston rule: if you want to change lanes, you have to TAKE the lane.

Fatty...tried to tell you that Country Cousins was MUCH better than Woody's...but you were blinded by that obnoxious Shell station. Next time, take my advice...some of the best brisket in the state

Do Dallas drivers stop at Yield signs like they do in San Antonio? Doesn't matter if anyone is coming, they treat all Yield signs as stop signs. Don't know how many near rear-end collisions (I'll join Fatty on this one...STFU, Swoly), I've gotten into in that city.

I've noticed in my time up here that the Dallas lanes seem alot narrower than Houston lanes. I always feel like im about to hit someone they're so close to me. Maybe I was used to the wide open highways and 12340912840 18 wheelers passing me in Houston.

Say what you want about Houston Freeways, but 635 loop in Dallas is a piece of ****. Narrow lanes, potholes, fading white lines, construction.

    Blech.

Driving in Dallas/Ft. Worth is a pain in the ass. Their freeway system looks like it was built by a blind man. I prefer Houston's simple circle-in-circle design.

635's not a loop, more of a half-circle. Loop 12 is 3/4 stoplights and very little actual freeway.

I agree, 635 is scary to drive on. crappy, crappy designs up here

I know its not a loop.

I lived in the Dallas Area for a year.

The 75 North bottleneck in McKinney is a nice source of traffic frustration.

They cleared that up. It's wide open like 59. That outlet area has blown up off of Stacy Road. I think they're building a mall out on the right side going 75 North.

635 sucks. Avoid it like the plague.
