Since we're talking about Cassell, if Sura doesn't make a comeback soon, I really think we should try and acquire Cassell.

Livingston is starting and doing a very good job. As long as we give them a backup PG.

Cassell makes significantly more than Alston, but I trust Cassell way more than Alston. I think Alston is doing the best he can and has improved. We just may need to take this opportunity to improve at another position seeing as T-Mac doesn't seem reliable.

Also, I think Cassell is exactly the kind of guy that will set the fans at TC on fire, and also light a fire under the team's ass.

    What do you guys think?

The NBA game isn't as easy as it looks - not that I would know a whole lot about playing in the NBA - because it's so fast paced that it takes a lot more time than the fans (or what I used to) give credit to the players to adjust.

It's just like Yao Ming missing those baby hooks in the 4th quarter. For a split-second I was angry at Yao. "Why did he miss those money shots?" but I remember he had 38 n 18 tonight. THE GUY WAS PROBABLY EXHAUSTED.

Luther Head probably hears it enough in practice, watching game film, etc. that he needs to drive when his J is being respected so well but it's going to take a little time for him to add it to his game naturally.

He has done a great job and has come a far way, he still has a lot to go and could always learn more to help this team but he is coming into his own quickly this season and is playing phenonemal.

There's one thing that is hard to teach - swagger. Luther may not show it, but only a guy with confidence would be willing to take clutch shots, sometimes away from T-Mac (whether he gives up the ball to Luther or not).

He's going to be good one day. When he starts to work on his mid-range game, starts to perfect his drive, floater, layups, when he starts to work on iso moves, etc. (if he does), when he perfects his defense and his dribbling/passing he's going to be damn good one day. It's just going to take a little time.

i don't need to repeat luther's positves, we all know he's been a steal at the 24th pick but just to vent on him, good grief he is frustating in the open court. the next time he makes a good decision or finishes a layup on a fastbreak will be his absolute first this season.

he's got the shot, he's got ability to get to the rim, he just hasn't put it all together, YET. he's never going to have the decision making needed to be a starting pg, unless t-mac is the shooting guard, but as a 6th man he can be an absolute weapon if he figures a few things out. i still believe he's holding back something athletically.

that said, it's a good thing we didn't just throw him into a deal. he's going to be a lot better than i thought.

Zero consecutive losses w/ T-Mac in lineup.

    So much about sample size.

Juwan = Otis Thorpe (which means he'll get traded away later in the year :D )

Luther Head is able to get to the basket when he's offensive minded. Its when he has to think like a point guard with the ball that it constrains his game out there (sounds like a familiar issue the Rockets have had before).
I liken his game to be like a poor man's Ben Gordon with the role he has on the team - not really a 1, not really a 2. Doesn't start but can start, while still playing lots of minutes and closes out the games well.

If he does do that, he won't be a poor man's Gilbert Arenas. He'll become Gilbert Arenas :D, and I trust in JVG's ability to coach Luther Head to starter material.

not to nit pick, but its actually Olajuwon. Of all people  :D .

Ummm, Chuck hayes needs to about 12 more teams to be chucky brown. Battier needs to resemble a rap star. Mcgrady needs to open up a bbq shop. Alston needs a shot to be kenny smith. Bonzi needs some heart to be mario elie. Head needs to have his dna merged with ET. and the rest is pretty accurate.

This is a good comment... something I have said a long time, you don't have to "show" swagger to have swagger. Luth has said before, every time he takes a shot he thinks its going in. That's confidence... and as someone said in an earlier post, he has that "uh huh.. I did that" look in his eye when he makes a big shot.

He's fun to watch and though you hate to have Tmac out... this is a good opportunity for Luth to realize exactly how much he can contribute to the team.

how can it be a sad resort if we have to rely on him as our 2nd scoring option? WOULD YOU RATHER RAFER SHOOTING THOSE 3's? actually i wouldn't mind seeing rafer spot up and shoot, its him driving to the rim that bothers me..at least luther finishes the drive, most of the time. luther may not be a very good point guard but at least he makes good decisions on when to shoot the ball and when to pass.

I remember being pissed that we didn't get Simien. I forgive JVG and CD now. Even with Shaq out and Walker throwing up bricks, Simien isn't getting anytime. It's so odd, but our undrafted summer camp player Chuck Hayes is better than Simien now. We didn't need to draft Simien at all.

    I really l SEA NW SF 23 23 55 136 40.4
ike this guy. But with the following stats...

    3-M 3-A 3pt%
    Luther Head HOU SG 53 107 49.5
    Rafer Alston HOU PG 51 139 36.7

Why is rafer shooting it so much?

That's 32 more shots from a player who shoots it worse. At Luther's % that would be 68 3's if they swap attempts...this would be 10 more than #1 in 3 made Raja Bell at 58.

Actually...Bell is #2 with 58, #1 is Arenas with 63. But head is definitely a great shooter with potential to get better. Once he develops a midrange..stop and pop type game...ooohh...he can be good.

Comparing Juwan to Otis Thorpe is comparing Macy Gray to Halle Berry.

That's why we need to trade him this year, because he's our only player with trade value.

Well actually Simien got ill this summer, some kind of horrible virus, and lost like 30-40lbs.

Oh and if you're thinking that he needed to lose weight, keep in mind that when you lose weight due to an illness, it's always teh wrong kind of weight you lose. Meaning, he lost a lot of muscle mass along with some body fat, which made him weak as hell. Last I checked he's getting healthy, working out and trying to get into godo physical condition so he can contribute.

Oh, it also doesn't help that Udonis Haslem and Antoine Walker play PF for them, with Mourning and Doleac at C. The worst player out of those 4 is Doleac, who is a veteran and I'm pretty sure that is right now more useful to them than Wayne Simien.

We need Luther. What we also need is for our STARTING SG to be someone who can penetrate because no one else on this squad is any good at doing that. Which is why I was hoping T-mac would take less 3's and go to the cup more often.

Well looks like heads value is sky rocketing. Howard was playing relative good the past couple of games so his value is slightly higher. lets make a deal!
