"McGrady missed his fourth straight game because of back spasms. Luther Head, making his fourth straight start in McGrady's absence, extended his streak to 23 consecutive games with at least one 3-point basket -- tying the franchise record shared by Sleepy Floyd and Matt Maloney"

Please Luther, erase Maloney from the record books.

Assuming this thread doesn't jinx him, Luther should make that old "record" look like a joke.

What does that have to do with anything?

If you are saying he's only good because of those guys, you're wrong.

So you're saying luther gets wide open 3's because he's so good at creating his own shot?

Matt Maloney should thank Hakeem for putting him on the record books.

You would think he can hit at least one 3-pointer against the Blazers.

I'm saying open threes can be found on any team. It's making them that's the hard part. And VERY VERY few people can do the hard part as well as Luther Head.

Besides, it's not like all the threes Head gets are assisted, either. In fact, probably at least half of them aren't. The guy takes like four (even more recently) per game, and consistently makes half of them. He's no opportunistic shooter like Brent Barry. He's a cold-blooded, J-in-your-face shooter who can make it off a spot-up, a screen, or even off the dribble. Not to mention he's clutch from the field.

Yao and T-Mac certainly don't hurt (especially T-Mac), but he would be making these shots on any team. Just maybe not quite as many of them. The guy has skills.

I don't think ANYONE has suggested this:

Luther Head for the All-star 3pt shooting contest?

Head has shown he is more than spot-up shooter in last couple of games. He has been dishing off and picking up odd board or two of late.

Be scared. Head is coming! :D

If anything the statistics show Matt should be the one thanking Hakeem, Charles, and Rudy T for the millions he made.

Luther can't be in the 3 point contest if he jumps forward 5 feet after every shot. I don't know how he's so accurate, but he makes his funky shot work.

How lucky we are to have Luther Head!

He is No. 6 in the NBA in Three-Point Field Goals Made(54.0), and among the top 10, he has the highest Three-Point Field-Goal Percentage(0.486)

What do you guys think about this comparison?

    Richard Hamilton

He was similar to Luther when he came out of Connecticut before he developed his killer midrange game
