If you are talking about Yao, I'm sure he didn't eat because he's worried
about his stats not looking good to canoner if he plays the remainder of the season.

When watching the game on the tv screen we do know that the camera is not at court level. This is very important. I just want people to remember this when we see the 6'3 Luther Head on our screen from the vantage point the camera gives us from a position higher than the court. My point is when you are ground level, say under the goal, you will see how difficult it is for Luther Head to pass the ball when a taller defender is guarding him. It just not as simple as, 'Yao has good position, pass him the ball' It looks like that from the perpesctive we get from the camera view, but on ground level, Luther Head being a shorter guard, he doesn't have that view we get with a camera perched up higher in the seats, he has a defender who is as tall or taller with his hands up making an effort to deny him a good pass. the tv-screen perspective created by a camera that is perched up high and the actual ground level reality on-court can cause this confusion.

Head's shooting comes and goes. I didn't complain about his shooting slump for the past 3 month, and I am not going to go crazy after he shot the ball well for 2 games. So should I have waited for a game in which head shoot 2 for 8 and then complain about other aspects of his game? What difference does it make?

great, we are back to "we don't have the right players" excuse. If you pay attention, then you should notice Head's defenders don't guard him closely. They typically give him two arm length. It is not like head cannot see Yao. He wouldn't have faked those passes if he couldn't see Yao. What really annoys me is if he cannot make a good pass as soon as Yao secure the position, he is not going to be able to make one after waiting. Either pass the damn ball on the first chance, or move the ball elsewhere. What is the point of taking 3-5 seconds to fake-fake-fake-fake-fake the pass?

The fact is Luther Head is playing some of his best basketball right now and here you are with a thread that does nothing but criticize and pick at what you see as negatives with the guy. So since you did that, I am the one who will ask the questions here. From your vantage point, and your not understanding the differnce between the tv perspective and the ground level reality of the basketball game, you see what looks like to you, Head not wanting to pass the ball to Yao when Yao gets good position and that gets to you, right?

Yao Ming shot the ball 17 times and you know what there were many more passes to him that he passed back out, but yet you are annoyed because from your tv screen perspective combined with your nitpicking yof fan mind you see Luther Head in his 7,000 minute career not make every timely pass to Yao Ming when he gets good position for a split second. Good luck with the rest of your Rocket viewing pleasure.

You are saying Luther Head is reluctant to pass to Yao. In other words, he doesn't want to pass to Yao Ming, it's not that he can't, or that because of his size or skillset he doesn't pass to Yao every time Yao for that split second secures position, it's that he doesn't want to pass to Yao for some unexplained reason. Maybe he is selfish. Maybe it's because Yao is chinese. Maybe he is just dumb and doesn't understand the game like you do. You don't know, you just think he is reluctant to pass to Yao for whatever reason.

I am saying you are wrong. Luther Head, on the court, with his skillset and physical stature is not able to make every pass you think he should make when you are viewing the whole court perspective sent to you home via a camera perched up above the court. I'm saying with a 100 percent certainty that when the eyes of Luther Head see Yao Ming open for that split second that his conscious does not interject and say, "don't pass that mutherfcker the ball" and that there is no reluctance on his part due to anything other than him not feeling confident he can make a timely direct pass to Yao in those circumstances.

luther is a much better shooter when he takes a few steps in...but remember he is just a a rookie and is playing 82 games instead of 40 also the games are longer and a hellofa lot more contact...next year he will be better once he is more confident and not worried that jvg is gonna take his ass outa the game for a bad pass or something like that

If you believe I am a yof, then put me on your ignore list. I am putting you on mine because you cannot reasonablly make a arguement without labelling me as a yof for whatever damn reasons.

PS: where is the ignore list?

I didn't know frustration over losses is a sign of trolling.

The kid has the potential and I would give it another season to see how far he can reach it. Unless we can trade him for something of great value this offseason or his passing ability doesn't improve then I would sit on the trade thoughts just yet. Let's not make excuses for him like "how hard it is to pass the ball with those taller defenders on him". If he can't do it then we will find someone who can.

Luther has played like a "rookie" because he is a "rookie." I like him, I see potential. He needs some work on his shooting, especially the mid-range jumper. I think he has great potential so far as driving to the basket. He is quick, seems to have good vision. He steals once or twice a game. If he were good enough to be a starter, which he is not at the present time, I think he could average 15-5 a game. He is a keeper. He may never be a starter, but he might improve into one. It has taken Ming four years to really get it going. Luther is one of the few bright spots this season.

If I didn't put you on ignore for calling a player who averages 7 field goal attempts a ballhog, there's nothing you can say that is worse than that that will make me put you on ignore. When it comes to basketball discussion, I don't think I've heard anyone say something that makes any less sense.

How about Ryan Bowen being the franchise player for this club? It is an absolute MUST that we build this team around him :p .

That shot he made in Dallas last night, what was that, his first made shot in 100 attempts. His is the only shot that doesn't look good even when it goes in.
