Same here. 'HEAD. Friggin' only games on HD were the ones against NFC teams Arizona, St. Louis and San Francisco--thank you, FOX. I think CBS execs are cheapskates... Now, don't get me started on UNIVISION and TELEMUNDO...
tnt has crazy pixellation on their basketball games. last night also seemed like one of their worst looking broadcasts. i saw some of those "effects" during the half-time show when usually your safe if something isn't moving too fast. inhd broadcasts are alot better but anytime a rcokets game is on there it's been blacked out for me. clutch it's definitely not from your tv. espn hd is pretty much a waste on basketball games.
I've had a 57" Sony projection tv for almost 2 years. When I have seen problems with TW, it's usually been the fault of TW. However, I have noticed that on the analog channels, sometimes there is a flickering in the brightness. It's kind of hard to explain. And most of the time you see it when it's in the evening and the room is dark. To answer your question - No
I picked up an HD DVR unit in time for the Rose Bowl, it looked good. Last night's TNT game had a lot of noticeable pixellation. So far, I have not been able to get the DVR functionality to work. If I press pause, it takes at least ten seconds before I get the still frame. Attempting to play from pause just causes it to lock up, and after a minute or so I just switch back to live TV to get an image back. Trying to play back a recorded HD broadcast also causes it to lock up. I am assuming I just have a defective box I need to switch out. Anybody else having this kind of problem?
I have the latest Atlanta Scientific from TW and the DVR functionality rarely gives me fits. Perhaps you can reset it. If that doesn't work, look for a rom upgrade - else swap/return it.
At least you get time warner cable. I have phonoscope in my midtown place, and they are garbage. I only get the locals in HD, not even ESPN not to mention TNT! My apt. faces north so I cannot even get satellite. It sucks man! I dont even get espn in digital cable. All their channels are analog crap through a digital box. I just got a new 61" DLP as a christmas present to myself, and I cnanot even fully utilize it because of phonoscope.
