Lol I hadn't read the thread but jeez... What a train wreck. Episode 3 was a masterpiece and fleshing out the bill storyline was one of the things I was MOST looking forward to when I heard it was going into the mini series format. The left behind dlc episode was faithfully done. Not great acting, but good enough. The fact that people got all pissy about these episodes because of "teh gays" and too much storytelling is sad. Yall need Jesus. And pro tip if representation bothers you stay far away from season 2.
This might have been explained but why did Marlene just reveal their plans with Ellie to Joel casually like that? It's one thing to want to kill a child to experiment on her, it's another to let a killing machine like Joel know with enough time for him to stop it. Marlene was a dumbass and caused a bunch of her men to get killed.
Might have to refresh my memory with a rewatch (of the game and show), but I'm not sure Marlene necessarily thought Joel would be as attached as he was. Might have assumed Joel still thought of Ellie as "cargo," though as their talks went on, it should have been pretty obvious. I guess that's why she then decided to have him leave via armed guard vs allowing him to stick around or leave on his own. But still kinda dumb (also kinda dumb how she handled the later confrontation). Marlene probably expected everyone to see things the way she sees them. Could possibly argue that she might have initially thought she could recruit Joel to help out with some tasks too, though again, that idea would go out the window fairly quickly.
How was the season finale for the gamers? As a non gamer I felt something was amiss.... Casting Ashley Johnson was the best thing.
