How the hell did the BBT and SV comparisons even come up? They are two completely different types of shows. Its like saying Chinese food is similar to Italian food simply because you eat it (and perhaps noodles involved). There is a place for the Chuck Lorre shows... appeals to the LCD type TV watcher who longs for the days of laugh-tracks to know what's funny and what is not.
It was posted by what. The exact person who I could see listening to his new Taylor Swift album while LOLing audibly at BBT when the laugh track hits. tl;dr- He's a dork.
I haven't watched much of it, some one had it on in the gym once, and it was awful......I don't understand the popularity....it just struck me as every generic bad sitcom I've ever seen, except it has "nerds"....
It's not hilarious like SV, but it's good enough to be background noise if you're half paying attention to it.
It's for fake nerds and, people not intelligent enough to differentiate if you ask me. No offense intended to those with poor enough taste to actually enjoy it. It also implies that people who are intelligent and/or nerds are all effeminate, and socially inept. Neither of which are true.
I hope Dinesh gets something to do besides be the punchline joke every episode. Starting to get a bit repetitive. Also, it feels like the last episode shows the potential of Richard becoming like a typical CEO willing to throw his friends under the bus to ensure the success of himself and his company, regardless if Blockman deserves it.
You've given us all not so subtle hints as to how old you are. This post just cements that you are at least 80.
I've only seen bits of Bing Bang but it looked like another formulaic laugh track network show. Silicon is a funny look at a real industry... Interesting and funny.
And detailed. Check out the level of detail the runners put into each set. I laughed like hell when "Action" Jack spent all that cash on their new corporate location. They probably had like 20 Artichoke light fixtures in there, each worth about 17k. Another where his office has horse memorabilia everywhere. The "Should we let this guy die" board was another. BBT couldn't even dream of getting to that level. BBT is Scandal. Silicon Valley is House of Cards.
I posted this on the first page of this thread... Glad that I was wrong. Love Silicon Valley, and I haven't watched TBS every since they stopped marathoning the Office on Wednesday nights in favor of Big Bang Theory. I really hate that show.
Nail on the head. Its not even a question between the two shows, like comparing fastfood to a legit restuarant. I will say this, another poster already hinted at it...the Dinesh crap on stuff is beginning to get old and a bit forced. Trying to make Gilfoyle look too badass, the dynamic was better before.
I do wonder if it's all leading up to some sort of Dinesh redemption moment. He does seem to be getting more and more pathetic with each passing episode, though.
Like Richard and the Spaces versus Tabs Don't think he actually got past 2nd base with her .. . . Dinesh I think will have his moment. . . I like the Subtle moments like how Jared just Gets Chicks like it was nothing and then he brushes the women off . . . it blew everyone's mind . . but they didn't harp on it . . .just it happened and they let it go . . . Bockman is funny but annoying Richard is annoying but not funny Jared is funny Dinesh and Gilfoyle are funny as a duo Rocket River
