for whoever liked this best buy has the entire miniseries on sale for blu-ray for 25 bucks this week.

I picked it up yesterday I had seen the first 2 episodes and enjoyed it and had the rest on my dvr till my roommate erased them to make space for other stuff sadly last year.

got the dvd set at walmart for like $35 a couple months ago - i watched that whole series in about 3 days and will definitely watch again.

as someone who has been a lifelong history buff, majored in history and been reading alot about the rev. war recently the movie really brought it all to life. the cities, what boston was like, continental congress, what day-to-day life would have been like for the average person, the battles, the freakish and ghastly looking frenchies - it was all spot-on.

i loved how accurate they portrayed all the principle players - everything i read about guys like adams (hotheaded, opinionated but well respected), jefferson (idealistic, deep thinker/philosopher, renaissance man) and washington (the miss manners of his day - very much into etiquette, a natural leader) was confirmed by the movie. they were able to effortlessly work into the dialogue so many quotes that i had read from them - as a history dork it was really cool. they did an excellent job of casting.

Q: who are the only 2 presidents to NOT attend the inauguration of their successor?

A: John and John Quincy Adams - like father like son!
