Just did as you suggested. Michelle Fairley has that matronly aspect that Catelyn had. With Jennifer Ehle, there's too much youth and exuberance there. Just my opinion though.
I'm ambivalent to the casting of Cat and Sansa. Their chapters are the most boring in the books for the most part.
I liked the stuff when Tyrion was her prisoner. But compared to the other POV characters, I would adamantly agree.
Yeah, I'm only like halfway through the second book, but I agree to this point. Cat's chapters are only interesting when she is with someone else who is interesting. But little of what either does or thinks really intrigues me.
Charles Dance cast as Tywin Lannister. I like it. http://winter-is-coming.net/2010/07/charles-dance-cast-as-tywin/ I always kind of imagined Michael Hogan (Saul Tigh from Galactica). But Dance is a good casting, IMO.
In general, I agree as well. However, Sansa's character shows hints of significant development quite a bit later in the series. I think GRRM is/was trying to get you to NOT like Sansa in order to have her redeem herself. I hope this is not the case as I really liked the Arya character. However, she is showing hints of going over to the dark side.

If I could rep you twice, I would. Highlight of my day, and that's saying a lot on the first Sunday of NFL.
I somehow missed the post in this thread announcing the casting of Charles Dance as Tywin Lannister. That's spot on casting, in my opinion. After seeing that, I realized that the image of the character in my head was almost exactly the type of character that he plays well. I hope this series does well in the ratings because I would really like to see the other books captured as well. Characters like Tywin Lannister really shine later on and maybe don't get so much "face time" in the first book.
Though I haven't read the books (on my to-read list, though), I'm really excited for this series. TV and film haven't done the fantasy genre justice by a long shot until LOTR. I'm glad to see HBO take on something like this.

I've been thinking exactly the same thing! A feast for crows made me like her and Jaime so much more. Spoiler When all's said and done, Sansa will probably have one of the most important roles to play. Of the Stark kids, she is the most well versed with the game of thrones. She is also Littlefinger's one weakness. I think Daenerys might be in for a tragic ending, and Sansa is the young queen in the prophecy Cersei got from the maegi that takes away everything from Cersei.
I always imagined Bill Nighy. Spoiler And honestly did anyone thing Tyrion would be played by anyone but Dinklage?
I keep hoping every time this thread shows up that it will say "A Dance With Dragons is done!!!"....but no.
Sweet concept art (more near the bottom of the page) _____________ As for ADWD- I've had the feeling for a good 6 years now that this series has turned into work for GRRM. He even calls it an 800-pound gorilla on his back on his blog. Hopefully once ADWD is out he will find some joy in it again and finish the series in a timely manner. You can keep an eye on THIS for updates. Which are few and far between.
