So this is the non-book-spoiler thread and the other thread is for book-related spoilers, right? If not, I think that's the best idea going forward. I don't want anything to be ruined for me.
I would say the other thread (Season 1) should be non book spoilers, so people can follow along with the episodes as they air.

And now, my thoughts for the ones who have read the books: Spoiler It sounds very clear that they are describing the filming of The Battle of the Blackwater. And it sounds like they're sparing no expense. I said I was fine with them cutting out the battles in the 1st season as long as they did the Blackwater good. Since George R. R. Martin is writing that particular episode, it should be done correctly. The question comes down to the budget. It's TV, so we're not going to be getting a "Helms Deep" type production here and we have to accept that. But I would rather them just not show the battles than to portray them badly. This particular battle could make the show an even bigger success than it already has been. Those people clamoring for action should get a healthy does here. Please, HBO...spend the coin.
This will make for an interesting season. Now that I just completed Dances with Dragons I am going to have to wait on the next book Hopefully. The season will be good and make the wait more palitable Rocket River
Still waiting to see who gets cast as the Reeds, and Reek. Pretty sure those are the last roles to fill.
I'm ecstatic that it sounds like season 2 will encompass all of Clash of Kings. I thought I heard they were splitting a book into two seasons, and Clash is the longest book so far.
Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Storm of Swords is longer. That is the book they mentioned as splitting into 2 seasons.
