wait...last show was the season finale? i missed it but i'll catch the re-run. and, reading the thread, E got engaged to Sloan...someone he hasn't even seen lately. what was his line? "oh Sloan...i realized that sleeping with all these other girls just doesn't do it for me. i want you. you complete me and...you had me at hello." hilarious. can't wait to see it.
Wow, HBO is really looking out for the little guy. Does anyone have the numbers for this season? I tried to google but came up empty. It seems the premier did good because of True Blood but the rest of season tanked?
Mention of finale here: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr...sion/news/e3if5d42373f4e4dac226cc6c45606aeae5 'Curb' gets highest ratings in five years 'Seinfeld' reunion story line kicked off Sunday By Nellie Andreeva Oct 6, 2009, 03:02 PM ET hr/photos/stylus/106146-curb_your_enthusiasm_341x182.jpg "Curb Your Enthusiasm" Sunday's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episode, which kicked off a story line reuniting "Curb" mastermind and "Seinfeld" co-creator Larry David with his "Seinfeld" cohorts, delivered the HBO comedy's best performance in more than five years. "Curb," featuring Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards, drew 1.6 million viewers in its first airing at 9 p.m. and cumulative 2.6 million when the same-night rerun is factored in. That is "Curb's" best performance in more than five years, since March 14, 2004. "Curb's" ratings gain boosted freshman comedy "Bored to Death," which nabbed its largest audience to date, 1.1 million viewers, up 51% from last week. (The total grew to 1.5 for the two Sunday airings of the show combined.) At 10:30 p.m., "Entourage" ended its sixth season on a high note, drawing 2.5 million viewers, up 21% when compared with last season's finale, and 3 million viewers overall when combined with the 11:45 p.m. re-airing.
It's funny to read about people saying the show is pretty bad, yet they are watching it. Why watch? I say Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance are bad...hence I don't watch them, except for the 10 seconds I see while talking to my wife who is watching it...*grumble*. Yes, I talk to my wife for 10 seconds.
It still has some funny gags and good characters, has a good track record, plus it's on in the middle of the normally very reliable HBO Sunday night bloc before/after good shows...it's just that the overall storyline/character development/innovation is not the show's strongsuit (especially compared to the other HBO shows that it follows/precedes) so it stands out a bit more.
Show is pretty stale. Same formula over and over and over. However, it's still somewhat entertaining (especially Ari), so I keep watching. But now I go weeks at a time before I watch the dvr'ed episodes as opposed to looking forward to it on Sunday nights. Drama is still funny and the Ari/Lloyd dynamic makes me laugh, but the show has definitely become stale.
I think some of you guys are expecting too much from the show. Lack of character development? recycled story-lines? great shows give you something new and interesting? I'm not disagreeing with any of those but the shows good for what it is and I find it quite entertaining. How can you not like Ari Gold's character and Sloan being soooooo foine.
