Diaz landed a lot of punches in the first fight. It seems in the 10th round Paulie started to figure him out and that carried over into the second one.

Funny thing is, Paulie and Juan are both pretty light punchers. So we all knew there would be no knock downs in their fights. Although Paulie did wobble Juan a little in the 2nd fight. If you go back and watch the video, you can see even Paulie was surprised by it.

Paulie isn't really an exciting fighter so he tries to make up for it by being flamboyant and annoying. I guess it works, because I'd like to see Khan knock him out. But I share the hatred evenly between the 2. I at least respect Paulie for facing top opposition. Khan has done absolute dick in the sport and he thinks hes God's gift to boxing. So if it goes to the scorecards I hope Paulie wins, but I wouldn't be against seeing Paul get his ass knocked out.

Even though Khan hasn't done ****, I think a win would mean more for Paulie. If Khan knocks him out, it won't really be that big of a deal. Because Paulie isn't that big of a threat to Khan.

Naw he'll just keep coming at him even harder... Manny will utilize his foot work and speed and will break through that shoulder defense...

Manny does not have good footwork. When he starts throwing his combos, he usually ends up out of position halfway through. His feet cross a lot when he is moving. He has hand-speed but his speed doesn't come from his footwork. Watch the Cotto and Oscar fights. When he is throwing those combos he isn't generating hardly any power, that is because he usually leans forward when he throws combos. He punches hard when he is balanced and on the balls of his feet. And that usually happens when his opponent is standing right in front of him. Watch the knockdown in the 2nd Marquez fight and the Hatton knockout. He is in position and throws that left hook, its over.

The key for Pac is to use his straight left, but not lean with it. Or even a short left hook if he can catch Floyd squared up a little. Manny's speed isn't going to be enough. He is going to have to be a little more economical with his punches. Pick his spots and try to land when he is in position. Running forward with crazy combos makes for a fun fight, but it will make for a short night for Manny.

I got a .gif somewhere of Manny throwing like an 11 punch combo on Cotto while he is on the ropes. He lands maybe 3, and misses with the rest. That isn't going to cut it with Floyd. Aside from the fact that Floyd works better than anyone I've ever seen on the ropes, he will get countered. His arms are short, he has leaky defense, and has no jab. That is a recipe for disaster against Floyd.

Here it is, notice how at first Manny starts off balanced, then he starts to lean forward, his front foot actually moves a little. His chin is up the whole time. If Cotto had good conditioning and stamina, he would have been able to land something there. Even with that being the 9th round, and Cotto being beat up. He didn't land hardly anything with that combo. I'm not saying Pac isn't going to be able to land good shots on Floyd. But he won't be able to do it the way he has been doing it. Something is gonna have to change.
