What??? Why? This whole season was a culmination of what happened. It was obvious that was coming. Remember what Nucky said, "Blood is thicker than water".
Yeah, I know. Its just Jimmy was my boy, lol. I just lost interest in the show when he got popped. Its all good though, different strokes for different folks.
Oh I totally agree with you on that. Jimmy was a great character. I am interested to see what Richard does next season with both the Woman he loved and his Best Friend dead.....
They just killed off the main, and second-most interesting, character. That's an, uh, unusual choice for a television show. I'll still watch, as Richard (now on the warpath) is probably the most interesting character, and he'll have more time onscreen. And I guess Jimmy's character would no longer fit in as a lieutenant. But, still: damn.
I have 2 and a half weeks of summer vacation, that gives me enough time to catch up on atleast 2 series, which do you all recommend- Boardwalk Sons of Anarchy Walking Dead etc.
1) Boardwalk - made for non-commercials Walking Dead can be watched in fast forward half the time. Sons of Anarchy has a decent arch, but good stand alone episodes too.
They had to do it..or else everything that transpired over the season would have no weight..it showed they had the balls to not take the cheap way with Nucky and Jimmy reconciling like every other show would have.. and to show the beginning of the transformation of Nucky..corrupt politican to a gangster. The whole season was dedicated to Jimmy's arc, his rise to his fall. This post-finale interview by Terrance Winter (the creator) explains the writer's reasoning, it's a good read. http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/whats-a...-creator-terence-winter-post-mortems-season-2 I like what how says their is a reason Jimmy Darmody isn't in the history books, and Al Capone, Luciano, Rothstein are...their are thousands who tried and didn't make it. I'm pissed he had to go because he was my favorite character but that shouldn't be the barrier that holds back the storytelling.
It is bittersweet because I think Jimmy was the most interesting character but I give them a ton of credit for having the cajones to kill off a lead for story's sake, now we know no character is safe. It's the same reason I admired The Wire. Sopranos was great but I feel they weren't good with this and I never ever felt like anyone in the main cast were in danger except near the end. A lot of deaths of tertiary of characters who were just introduced in the beginning of a season.
