True, 45m is probably not going to be enough for Millsap/Gallo, but I would hesitate going any higher. It will be interesting to see how much Millsap and Ibaka get. I doubt Millsap gets the full max, given his age, but I can see teams offering 3/90. Gallo's floor are the Deng/Anderson contracts, I think he will be in the 20-25m range. I would throw 4/100 to Ibaka and Millsap, and 4/80 to Gallo, see who bites. We would also need to find a buyer for Anderson, but that's another story. Maybe tying his contract's to Ariza would make it easier to offload him.
If he doesn't get his superman tho, how likely is it that he leaves? I know people point to Charlotte but that has more to do with rfa and forcing Utah a contract Max to match. I still don't think he does leave. He is in a good position being the guy on a young up and coming team built around him and a great compliment in Gobert. That core is built around his same age group and they can contend for a while together but does he ultimately want to win it all? Because that roster isn't good enough and it is facing some difficult salary decisions. If he does leave who are the top suitors? It would have to be a team that can sign him and contend for a title better than Utah. That makes it pretty much a 2 man race with Boston and Houston. Boston has youth, assets galore, the ability to make him the focal point and an easier path to the finals out east. They have his college coach Brad Stevens who recruited him when he was nobody. Houston has James Harden and a system he would thrive in. Less pressure to perform greatly being a secondary all Star. We don't have nearly as much to offer unless we make it to wcf and scare gsw while Utah flames out in round 1. Also hope for a Boston playoff fail. If I think about it objectively the rankings currently are 1) Utah 2) Boston 3) Houston
Which summer? I'm not sure how this All NBA bonus thing works, but seems you have to be a reigning All-NBA player to get it, no? Or is it something like once in last two years
I would be on board with Gallinari over Hayward except Gallinari is damaged goods. Sure Gordon, Nene and Anderson were also extremely injury prone but they don't really depend on athleticism unlike Gallo, Gallo's style of play makes me think he will always miss huge chunks of the season due to injuries. I'm not sure how ready Harrell is for the stretch 4 spot, it would depend on how good his 3 pt shot is although TBH the few times he's played at PF he's been decent, he makes up for the lack of shooting with much better D, rebs and above the rims plays.
Yeah I totally agree with everything. But he made some public statements recently and with the Utah team problems, that it seems there's a real chance he bolts. Ofc it will depend how their season will end. I'm not counting on the Clippers to do their job tho lol. From what I remember, player doesn't have to be reigning All Nba-er but he can also have won it 2 out of 3 seasons/.. But the problem with Hayward is because he signed the Charlotte offersheet he's not eligible now for the DVPE because of the years restrictions. So to get it he has to make all nba next year as well and opt in with Utah. Maybe I'm wrong I dunno.
http://basketball.realgm.com/wireta...ou-Cant-Blame-Players-For-Staying-Or-Changing Also around that time there were lockeroom issues in Utah with Gobert calling out others for having no heart and being selfish thinking only about themselves and their contracts etc. I imagine even if he didn't say it clearly he included Hayward in that.
Yeah, what we know is that he was already willing to leave three years ago when he signed a player friendly deal with Charlotte so... Also, i agree with @BigMaloe, think Boston will be eventually ahead of us here, even though who knows...nobody saw LMA having the Suns as his top destination two years ago, other teams can come out as front runners or maybe we'll be, we'll see...and even if Hayward picks Boston in the end, maybe at that point the Celtics would be out of trade talks for George, which can be a good thing for us.
The question was about how we could possibly sign Hayward cap-wise as opposed to whether he would agree to come here.
- trade Anderson for no salary - trade Ariza and Lou for no salary + cut non guaranteed contracts like Wiltjer, Taylor, Williams...or trade Gordon with Ariza or Lou. I think it's pretty much one of these two options.
