I'd say the defensive backfield has an easier job because there is one more person off the line that can blitz, cover, drop back in zone or contain. They don't have a 3-4 NT and that is the most important position of the 3-4 because that player is asked to take on 2 and sometimes 3 offensive linemen by himself. Haynesworth probably could have been a good NT but never adhered to the idea although he showed flashes of excellence when he was in there. Besides him though, I don't think you can name any excellent person on that line. I am not sure why you named Carriker, he has been nothing but a bust since being taken by St. Louis. While the linebackers have some good names, the defensive line holds them back for the reasons I mentioned above. Orakpo is the speedy rusher needed and seen on most 3-4 defenses and Fletcher is a guy who can do what is needed but when the defensive line does take attention away from them, it's hard for them to do their job. The defensive backfield is overrated in my opinion. Minus his 4 interception, career day against Cutler, Hall has 2 picks and a bigger mouth than he has game. Landry is a good run stopping safety but his cover skills are questionable. Rogers can't catch a cold much less a football. I think they have some pieces but their defense just sucks.
