Haynesworth on the block? Wouldn't he look nice lined up next to Mario?

Fair enough to you... they were a pretty darn good defense before he arrived, and he came to the District WITH Orapko.

I completely missed the most prescient point though! D.C. puppet master happens to be quite chummy with our head coach. The man employed his son! Maybe they could find a deal, between old pals, that would be mutually beneficial to both parties. Didn't Shanny give GM Smith his first chance as a player, assistant, and executive? Maybe this scenario is more likely that I originally thought.

Same...there is no question I'd give that 2nd rounder up in a heartbeat for Big Al. The things he would do to our defense are immeasurable.

It would finally solidify our DLine. Its been a constant struggle to get the pieces in place. Mario would get 15 sacks, easy. There were so many times when Williams would beat his man only to have the QB step into the pocket and avoid Mario's arms by inches. That would no longer take place.

And Donny's right about that extra incentive...I would love to have Albert dominate the Titans. That would make me cry tears of joy.

I would do it in a heartbeat. Offer our #2 and their pick of our DTs. He's a cancer, but no worse than Travis Johnson - and unlike Travis, he makes a defense better simply by showing up.

Trick is, Detroit is the leading bidder for his services. I don't care what the Skins say publicly - Shannahan and Haynesworth already had it out and neither have any intention of working with the other. He's gone. And no one is giving them a NT worth starting in exchange. That would be idiotic.

I suddenly find myself crossing my fingers and wishing, hoping, praying the Texans land Haynesworth for a 4th rounder and a six-pack.

The reason Redskins are still trying to trade him is because Haynesworth is basically refusing to play in a 3-4 defense. It's more work for him in a 3-4, and he knows his stats won't be as good too.

He signed with Washington for the $$ and for the sole purpose of always playing in a 4-3 defense (like the titans have).

I bet he stays in washington. Texans don't have a chance to get him, and they will say they never wanted him too. It is possible he goes back to the Titans, but at this point I say let his lazy/injury/rich ass stay in washington.

I'd give a 2nd for em. And a first and future pick for the Raiders CB whose name I won't try and Google. Now you have a Super Bowl defense on your hands and we finally start spending some money for once in our lives.

Maybe we should stop calling him Big Al, everytime I read that I feel the need to insert "GAY" in between.

At work so can't upload pics.... little help.....

Big Gay Al is super thanks for asking!

Would do it in a heartbeat.

It'd make our defense scary and we'd get to draft secondary with our first two picks. Also our secondary won't have to do much with such a dominant Dline, just look at the Titans secondary WITH Big Al, they were considered top notch...take him away and guess what? They became one of the leagues worst.

Also the guy has a lot to prove next year. Because also his stock has fallen and people have called him lazy among other things. He'd be out to prove both the Redskins and Titans they made a huge mistake and he'd be doing it with us.

Also we know the guy brings the pain to QBs if he gets there, that changes the game. He's a game changer at best and a elite defensive player when he's at his best. Must do this if you have the shot.

He also has a nasty "I'm gonna **** you up *****!" attitude, and other than Cushing and Pollard, who thinks like that on our defense?

Oh yeah he also does wonders in the run game. We have Friggen Chris Johnson and MJD in our division. Nothing more needs to be said. A big DT like him helps everyone on the team.

Just have him send flowers to Matt if he gets here

If there is no salary cap why not go george steinbrenner on the league. The window in the nfl is much smaller then the other leagues (infuries, FA) might as well go all out.

I think the typical feeling is that if there is no salary cap, it will only be for one year... so you don't want to gorge yourself on salary that will give you a hangover when the cap comes back (at a presumably humble number, with all the money problems the owners are facing, or claim to be facing).

Also, I've heard rumors that the salary cap may be retroactive after this season. So, if you spend a lot this season...it will be taken away next. I haven't seen a team go Steinbrener...so this rumor may have some legs.

yeah portis is horrible.. but assuming you're not getting more than a #3 RB and mcnair's still willing to take that salary on, then sure.

still don't think haynesworth will be moved though

Haynesworth - You get him! You make the Playoffs

    IMO
even before the draft this is a 10 win team next year.
Add Haynseworth and a goods couple draft picks. . .and it is a 12 win team
with at least 1 win in the post season.

Portis and Haynesworth would fill needs for the Texans.

Portis may not be great anymore, but he does know the system. A 3rd string RB that could possibly improve. On top of that, Haynesworth is worth it.

I would give up a 2nd round pick based package to help Washington get rid of Portis/Haynesworth. I would give up a 1st round pick if Wilson or Thomas are off the board.

The press in Tennessee is thinking that getting Fat Albert back to possum holler would be a worthwhile endeavor as well.

From the article, it looks like his salary over the next three years is very cap friendly, although I'm sure he'd ask to redo it if he got traded...

I'd be all over trading a third for Haynesworth. It'd mean we could draft a running back and corner back with our first two picks and come away with three day one starters for our first three picks.
