Because he was too happy to say any word.

Hayes showed his obvious happiness... not cool.

Dude, gimme a break, what happened last season other than an injured player still wanting to play through his injury. And just like you said, Im sure "they" know whats it like to have him as a teammate, (not you)

So take a step back and stop feeling that becasue you dislike him as a fan that the team dislikes him as well. The fact of the matter is that nobody has ever heard any team members say that they did not like Tracy as a team member.

ok everyone, don't start assuming how those players feel from those videos...I'm sure the players have all types of confidentiality agreements...that's where the smiles are coming from...not because they're happy he's gone, or clueless about him leaving...the media knows they can't say anything that's going on within the organization....and the players know that the media knows that...that's where the smiles are coming from.

Honestly, from the videos in this thread, most appear to have known this was coming and accepted it. No one seemed to high or low on it and seemed like they were ready to move on. Which really, after being asked the same questions for months about what it's like with Yao and McGrady gone or what is it like with McGrady back, you can't blame them. They have played most of their games this year without Tracy and really only Shane has played the most games with McGrady, everyone else hasn't played that much with him and probably aren't as close as those two have been.

And it is a shame that people appear to be getting Hayes and Landry confused again, because Chuck seemed more or less neutral like one of those neighbors that say "He was quiet but always courteous from what I've seen," . You get the feeling that he and Tracy weren't that tight.

Landry almost seemed to be taking back handed comments, saying "He's my friend," but at the same time saying stuff like, "He's going to do what is good for Tracy." Nevertheless, you have to respect him for telling the reporters quickly after saying his piece on the subject that he didn't have more to say. Compared to how they kept badgering Chuck and Luis, the reporters knew already to change focus to tonight's game in that video rather then keep asking him questions he didn't want to answer.

I suspect guys may well have different feelings about TMac the person and TMac the pro basketball player. There is a difference between whether you'd go have a beer and go to the holiday parties with someone and whether you'd want to get through the grind of an NBA season and the cauldron of the playoffs with him.

I've worked with guys whom I get along with quite well personally, but whose professionalism on the job is questionable. I suspect it's similar with other professions.

I have no reason to suspect McGrady is not a good person. He seems to care a lot about Darfur, etc. He just gives me reason to question whether one would want him on one's basketball team.

It's True, I feel like McGrady is a great person because of what he does for charities and Darfur. However, when Tmac laces those shoes up, he's honestly one of the most worthless people to me. It's a different feeling, most of you should know. He has different behaviors in different situations.

Exactly, but i'll add that they may actually still think highly of him as a ball player, but they may just realize he's not right for the current team.

By the way, some of these guys might be teammates with McGrady again. They might be packaged in a McGrady trade. So even if they don't like Tracy it's unlikely for them to throw him under the bus right now. It would be awkward if they both end up on the same new team.

The takeaway point of all those videos is that NONE of the players are saying, "Man, this situation sucks. T-Mac is our unquestioned leader and we NEED him if we're ever going to be an elite team."

If they really had his back (read: if he hadn't acted in a manner to make them question exactly where his OWN loyalties lie), that's what you'd be hearing. Can you imagine the outcry from various teams if their GMs agreed to trade the superstar? Last year when the Chargers talked about not re-signing LT, many of their guys came out in public and said the team needed to step up and take care of the man. That support is completely absent from T-Mac's guys, and there's a reason for that.

Hmm, I'm sure they aren't dreading the light and stuff, but rather, the questions that were asked.

It seemed like our players weren't prepared for TMac questions, even though that was obviously going to be asked, lol.

The honest truth is that they know this is a business, and some day they may be in a similar situation. I think that Carl knows all about that and I really anticipate his upcoming contract negotiations.
