Yeah... after 5 games, Chuck Hayes has surprised me. It's no longer a 4 on 5 offense. You leave Hayes and he'll find a way to score. People might think it's easy to receive passes and make layups, but not everyone can make the layups that Chuck can. If he's within 3 feet of the basket with the ball, it's going to go in. A lot of other players would get blocked or might get pressured into missing it. He's always been like this, but before you had Yao or Mutombo clogging up the paint. Of course... lets be real here. 1 on 1 Hayes can't score unless he can get his man to come out on him (like he did a few times against Portland). Although... we don't really expect him to do that. He plays his role perfectly here.
So does that mean I am ahead of the curve? I already have a Chuck home and away jersey! Glad to see Chuck being Chuck again this season. You all have to understand, he does what he's asked to do. If he isn't asked to be an offensive threat, then he focuses on what you do ask him to be, which in that past was strictly a defensive stopper. I'm glad that the guys on the post game show gave him some props.
Yea, you're way ahead of the curve, you are "The Hayesfan". I only have the away Jersey! How long until the Rockets figure this all out and offer his jersey in the Rockets Shop, instead of it being a custom order?
At this point, Hayes is > Scola. Hayes can stop anyone, and also can score some points, that was never happen before. Can he be a most improved player if he can play like this? Of course I will vote him.
