Yeah, I remember TMac zinging passes into Chuck when he dived into the lane on the pick-and-rolls his first couple seasons. He'd flip the ball into the basket before anyone knew what was happening. I also remember watching him at Rockets open practice that season, and he had the ugliest jump shot I've ever seen He had a severe hitch then and that was probably why he didn't make the cut on opening day. I think two seasons ago he took another jump shot and the opposing crowd gasped it was so ugly. He pretty much jumped at the basket Michael-Adams-style, but double-pumped, bringing the ball down to his waist before hurling it towards the goal. I hope to see him heave another one this season.
You make some good points however it is very likely that Hayes worked on Improving his Offense during the off season considering that he would be playing more with Yao out and that every basket he makes becomes much more Significant for the Rockets to Win. As for FT's, YOU CAN DO IT CHUCK!
Chuck Wagon is the ultimate man and hopefully his chop to Bynum will sideline him for a couple games and set back the Lakers. At least it will hopefully delay Bynum's "breakout season". http://my.lakers.com/blogs/2009/11/04/bynum-sprains-elbow/
Gotta admit, I didn't like Chucky that much until this season. He's really become at least not a liability on the offensive end.
Chuck's not even Kwame black. We may have to start comparing Chuck to the Chuck who said we'd finish last in the west this season soon.
Remember his first few games for the rox? Chuck Hayes is actually dunking! Wonder what happen from there on.
I was really wondering why Chuck Hayes (reminding me of Otis Thorpe) was co-Captain, now I know why. Dang, this guy is a layup scoring machine and makes wise decision, if he didn't foul Bynum, Rockets would not have a chance to win the game. Coming to this season, I thought Hayes is a subtraction to our team because of his lack of size at his position and lack of FT accuracy, but his rebounding and layups are second-to none. Thank You Rockets for having Chuck Wagon!!!
I think it was last season when Chuck Hayes locked down on Garnett and made him work for his points was when I realized why this 6'6" Forward was on our team and occasionally could play center. He's defense is crazy strong and with his improved offense, I can see why Adelman left him in the game. Honestly, if he keeps this up and doesn't get voted on to an All Pro defensive team, I will call BS. Lacking height but making up for it with hustle, skill and great play, if you aren't respecting the Chuckwagon, it will run you down.
Last night's game was the best game I've seen the Chuckwagon play. The basketball is like a magnet to him.
there is nothing to disagree with in this thread really (aside from that poor thought that he used to be bad at layups. he had a bad stretch, but it wasn't a skill he sucked at and then improved upon) chuck is a machine. and i need his jersey
