VC has been clear he wants playing time - got to respect that.

Well technically Melo had a no trade clause and probably only agreed to trade if they would waive him.... isn’t like Hawks are picking Carter over Melo, like your suggesting. Hawks did trade to get rid of Schroeder...

Bro, technically they didn't want Melo, which is why he is not there but they wanted Lin and Carter which is why they are there.

I know you said in not on so my bad. Close enough though. Even has Worrell commentating. Amirite?

    Bonus.

His longevity has been crazy. Half man half amazing but for a good stretch he was jokingly called half man half a season.

Always loved VC. Really wanted him to get at least one ring. I’m honestly upset he didn’t ring chase.

Pretty incredible for a guy that plays a position that requires pretty good athleticism. Half man, half amazing indeed!

How long has his teammate Antawn Jamison, who was drafted ahead of him and had a decent NBA career, been out of the league now?

5 years ago. And he had a really long career.

If it were 2002, 2005, or even 2008, this deal would be front page news. But, it's a typical Hawks move.

I wonder if he'd be able to get at least 12-16 mins off the bench in Houston - probably not likely with EG, Ennis, GG, and MCW coming off the bench. He'd definitely be way more productive than Joe Johnson was last year and would be possibly be more valuable than MCW this year. If he's looking for more PT and a larger role than that, i can see why he's not interested in ring chasing.

Perhaps he will ring-chase 4 or 5 years from now. Hey, 50 is the new 40-- at least for VC.

I'm glad there are great players like this left out there to remind people that rings aren't everything. You can have a career that's more respectable than a guy with a ring. Winning shouldn't be easy, and real fans love the guys who gave it their all but the luck never aligned for them.

I said I liked VC because 50 is 40 for him. I hope he does get a ring because he can still wow us, despite his age. I like your comments about him.

He's not ring chasing or chasing money, he's just balling

He's definitely going to play more games than Lin this season

Man I hope Vince can play for 22 years and keep signing 1 year deals on different teams so he can be the first player to play on all 30 teams. Or maybe get traded at the deadline each of next 11 years.

Toronto, New Jersey, Dallas, Memphis, Orlando, Sacramento, Phoenix, Atlanta down. 22 to go.
