Brewers salary is too much. They would have to include Humphries or something Korver for KJ + Onuaku or Wiltjer works too Maybe Atlanta would do him a solid and send him to a contender. He'd be in 3point heaven over here
No but ur also only getting him for half of season before he's a free agent. Morey is not going to give up a lot though
Yeah, i agree, in the end how many minutes he would play here? 15 per game? He's also probably going for the best contract possible next summer so it would basically be only a 4 months rental, personally i would never trade 2nd rounders for him at this point since that's just not the spot we need to improve most...Brewer and KJ sure, nothing more though.
i thought 2nd rounders could be bought for money through some trading tricks , is this abolished by new cba? btw Korver is a perfect fit for us so i guess its OK to overpay for him, I agree hes not valuable to other teams but he would unlock Harden greatness even more so i wouldn't hesitate to give up 1st rounder for him (cause morey can get you 1st rnd talent with 2nd round pick if you stick to your elaboration of why 2nd rounders are valuable)
dont forget injuries gordon and ryan were fragile always...whatever even 15 minutes of korver instead brew would give us godly advantage over other teams( and perhaps 10 point swing at least sometimes)...you simply dont miss opportunity to have all of them gordon ryan and korver on your team alongside harden
then sign him to extension or promise him something for the next 2 years...you just have to find a way to pair him with Harden
korver doesn't address a need specifically, but i think he can provide a surge of offense to cover our deficiencies temporarily. he's shooting the 3 at 42%. and at age 34, i think he can be had for a reasonable price.
also, this may be unpopular opinion, but i'm not particular about parting ways with brewer. i genuinely think he can provide a spark when our team is lethargic. i'm not advocating for him to get significant PT, but i do think he can step in. he's unselfish, a vocal leader, and to me his 2015 postseason performance was worthy to me to keep on if we need that kind of surge. i'd part ways with wiltjer, ennis, kj, and maybe nanu before moving brewer.
Walk me through the scenario? Someone will give up assets to get Milsap and then release him? I don't get it? His salary is huge but only for one year, so it doesn't make sense that he would be the salary filler to send a different asset to a team. What's the scenario you are working on here?
I'd say he's done pretty well, all things considered. 2007 - Carl Landry 2007 - Brad Newly 2008 - Joey Dorsey 2008 - Maarty Leunen 2009 - Jermaine Taylor 2009 - Sergio Llull (not a meaningful NBA player, but huge overseas) 2009 - Chase Budinger 2011 - Chandler Parsons 2012 - Furkan Aldemir 2013 - Isaiah Canaan 2014 - Nick Johnson 2015 - Montrezl Harrell 2016 - Chinanu Onuaku 2016 - Zhou Qi Started more than 60 NBA games
