THIS, THIS IS A HISTORIC chance to get Korver!!! We would be absolutely lethal with Korver, Gordon, Anderson Ariza, Beverley , Harden - all great high volume 3pt shooters!
Yup, I would take Korver in a second If they are willing to sell. Let's load up on shooters for the Warriors. Imagine Harden with Gordon/Korver/Ryno on the floor... WOW.
Get Korver for nothing. Forget about Millsap. As others have said: Millsap >>> Anderson Anderson with Harden >>> Millsap with Harden Anderson and Gordon have been incremental in our record. Who was #2 on the scoring chart vs the Knicks? Anderson with the 25.
Korver as a rental should cost us what some of you are thinking. Another guy who's been sitting for two years, should have fresh legs and tons of play-off/championship experience is Mike Miller. Miller is 36 and is the kind of vet leader and 3pt shooter who should come at a low cost, but could be valuable on the bench and locker room as well. If he has anything left we could probably throw a 2nd at Denver and have another deadly shooter on the bench.
Not only is the Korver of a couple of years ago gone, but we wouldn't even be able to just plug in that Korver into our system. Those Hawks built their entire offense around Korver's shooting and off-ball movement. You'd be replacing Brewer's average defense and bad spot up shooting with Korver's below average defense and good spot up shooting for 8-10 minutes. Sefolosha might make more of an immediate impact (and come cheaper).
and beverley all 40% and above 3pt shooters, then you also have ariza who is solid from 3 (37% this year) and nba 2 time champion from the corner 3
This just isn't accurate. Just because he isn't the all-star he was 2 years ago doesn't mean he is useless. The best system in the NBA for korver is ours, spurs and gsw. To even insinuate he couldn't be plugged in for brewer is nonsense. Korvers defense is average, albeit a tad below brewers. But he is the vastly superior player off the ball in both shooting and movement. He's the superior offensive talent, and even in a "down year" in which he has "seriously regressed" he is still sorting over 41% which is elite. I understand people want "growth potential" but there is no down side of acquiring korver. Especially at the likely bargain price it would take to acquire him.
Millsap in Anderson's role is a no go for me. We don't need anymore non-shooters taking 5 threes a game.
Additionally, we are trading for a player who will be a UFA. If he does not sign with us, we are screwed.
yup...getting a player like Korver would practically guarantee at least 3 players "gettin off" instead of 2. Now having said that this podcast below talks about that "Death Lineup" we might see in the playoffs
