What do you mean we don't have "assets." The Rockets have capspace. The point of trading Milsap will be a salary purge. The Rockets are in great position to make these salary purges happen...maybe merely as a 3-team trade, where the team who gets Milsap, sends a draft pick to ATL, and we get a player from them.
Rockets can offer ariza and beverly leaving them with Dekker at SF and no PG Morey doesnt have assets anymore
We can gut our core of starters who are all signed to great value contracts: Bev & Trev. That and a few others maybe. Then we have Paul Millsap but our starting line up would be: Payton II Harden Dekker Millsap Capela Straight garbage. I think some Saturday day drinking is in order.
So the rockets should do what utah did a few years ago and become a dumping ground for other teams? Thats what teams with alot of cap space and no options do
Lmao a lot of teams have cap space, we have little. That being said Milsap is a rental and teams wont need too much. Ariza, Beverley and Capela for Milsap and Splitter?
They need no salary back + picks. We have cap space but no quality picks. We can do future picks but still we don't have as much as other teams.
Only one year left on his contract (Player Option in 2017) and hence will get paid next year, so other teams won't offer too much. I'd take Millsap over Horford.
Millsap has real value and we can't get even in the conversation of trading for him. Ariza? Bev? lol To get him it's going to take multiple FIRST round picks. And he may be expiring but if you look around you if the FA is offered his sweet max money and the 5th year he's going to stay with his team. And Millsap with his carreer projectory every year gets better and better. The team who gets him will offer him full 5 max and will keep him no problem.
I'm no cap expert but can't we sign and trade Howard to ATL for Millsap? Of course, if ATL can find a better trade for Millsap they would rather do that then sign Howard outright but man, I really want Millsap.
