Pelicans are building a great team for that upcoming NCAA season. Oh wait.

I would move Ball Ingram and a bunch of those picks for Bradley Beal.

    Zion
    Beal
    Holiday

    Hart

They only need a center and a SF

New Orleans lost a top 5 player. That part still stings, but they’re doing a damn good job of setting themselves up for the future and making the best of the situation.

Couldn't agree more. How fast things can change in the NBA. The first half of the season they looked like fools for trading away Luka, then Trae came on strong and now look like they may have won the trade with the 10th pick included. Their trade today gives me flashbacks when we traded 13,18,23 for Eddie Griffin. It's a shame it didn't work out, but it's a risk that makes sense. The odds of finding a franchise player after 5 drops drastically. Then again, Hawks showed last year they're not afraid to trade down. Is there a chance they trade the 4 for something like the 7 and another future first rounder?

    Young
    Huerter
    Hunter

Trade An expiring contract for a team and get rid of a bad contract.
The most valuable expiring contract ever!

    4 unprotected picks
    plus

    Ball 2nd pick
    Ingram 2nd pick
    8th pick
    ......

I think Hawks know they're not quite ready and will actually try to get future assets today, although not with 4th pick unless it's a deal they can't refuse. On a side not, Collins would be a perfect stretch 4 for us.

I don't feel there is any difference between 4th and 8th picks today.

    x 2 = 34 + 1 = 35

Pelicans got a lot of value but Hawks killed this trade, sure they get salary but they are tanking, they want to be bad.

They move up to No. 4 and get their guy Hunter, who IMO is actually better than RJ Barrett.

Kinda a head scratcher for NO tbh, they already have Zion who will most likely play PF, Ball and Ingram. They need an SF who can provide spacing and defend....that's Hunter. Maybe they're trying to get Beal and have Ingram play SF instead, but Ingram is too thin to be an SF and he has blood clot risks.
